Tarangire National Park is well known for its big herds of elephants and the huge amount of majestic baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them. Besides, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why in this season in Tarangire you can see groups of up to 250 elephants next to many more animals. After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservations Area. Today we will visit Maasai bomas and Olduvai Gorge.The Maasai are one of Africa’s most intriguing tribes. Although they live outside the crater itself, they are allowed to graze their animals around the crater rim or bring them down the crater for water during the dry months of the year.Visiting the Maasai people involves attending traditional dance performances, taking photos, buying souvenirs and meeting the elders. Experience the Maasai cultural ways of life. Olduvai Gorge is an archeological site, Dr. Leakey and his wife discovered the earliest human fossils who lived over 3 million years ago. The site attracts thousands of tourists who are interested in history of mankind. You will enjoy a picnic lunch then drive back to your lodge located at Crater rim for dinner and overnight. Early in the morning descend to Ngorongoro crater to spot animals when they are still more active. The famous Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! Once in the crater, thousands of animals such as lions, zebras, buffalos and black rhinos surround you, and the views are astounding.
