Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guwahati Airport / Guwahati Railway Station – Kaziranga (210 Kms / 5 Hrs Drive)

  On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & transfer to Kaziranga National Park - It is approximately 220 kilometers and is nearly 05 hours drive - Kaziranga National Park has been granted maximum protection under the Indian law for wildlife conservation - The sanctuary, which hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses and is a World Heritage Site - Located on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, the park combines high species diversity and visibility - Reach by evening and check into hotel / resort - Evening stroll around the local area - Overnight stay at Kaziranga

• Day 2 : Kaziranga Activities

  Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant - Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky one can spot the tiger also - It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park - Return to the resort for breakfast - After breakfast, visit Assamese Village, Craft Centre etc - After lunch Jeep Safari in one of the ranges of the park - Return to the hotel / resort - Evening stroll around the local area - Overnight stay at Kaziranga

• Day 3 : Transfer From Kaziranga National Park To Shillong

  Early morning breakfast - Next drive to Shillong - It is approximately 295 kilometers and is nearly 07 hours drive - After breakfast proceed for Shillong - Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills - It is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India - Shillong is situated at an elevation of 4,900 feet - The town reminded the European settlers of Scotland - Hence, they would also refer to it as 'Scotland of the East' - On arrival check-in to your hotel - Rest of the day at leisure or one can stroll around the local market or police Bazaar - Overnight stay in Shillong

• Day 4 : Cherrapunjee Excursion

  Early Morning breakfast - Next drive to Cherrapujee - It is approximately 60 Kilometers i.e. 02 - 2½ hours drive by car - Currently the historical name Sohra is more commonly used is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya - It is credited as being the wettest place on Earth, although nearby Mawsynram currently holds that record - Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone caves - Visit Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc - Later after lunch back to Shillong drive back to Shillong - On the way visit to Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls - Return to The Hotel / Resort - Evening if time permits visit local market (Police Bazar) - Night stay at Shillong

• Day 5 : Mwallynnong Excursion

  Early morning breakfast - Excursion to Mwallynnong - Next one has to drive for slightly over 2 ½ - 3 hours a distance of approximately 90 kilometers - Mawlynnong nestled in the pristine hill state of Meghalaya, is along the Indo-Bangla border - This nice and colourful little village is known for its cleanliness - The village offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock - Residential facilities are still scarce and are in the process of being developed, the existing one constructed from bamboo and thatch is quite hospitable - It is an artist's delight and would titillate creative writers and poets - Drive back to Shillong - Evening visit Local markets - Over night in Shillong

• Day 6 : Shillong Local Sightseen And Transfer To Guwahati

  Early morning breakfast - Next start the local sightseeing - The places of interest includes The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating - The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids - Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers - One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees - Spend the evening in the splendid arena - The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya - Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings - Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks - For the Bird’s eye view of Shillong, one can take a stand at Shillong Peak - later transfer to Guwahati and Overnight stay at Guwahati.

  Early morning (around 6.30 AM) visit Maa Kamakhya Temple - Situated atop the Nilachal Hills, the foremost shrine of Assam, Kamakhya is an ancient seat of Tantrik and Shakti cults of Hinduism - The temple offers grandstand views of the river Brahmaputra and its surroundings - The reigning deity here is Goddess Parvati (Sati) -, return to hotel and after breakfast proceed for local sightseen Umananda Temple (smallest river temple in the midst of the river Brahmaputra) Basistha & Balaji Temple etc - After lunch visit State Zoo, Science Museum, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Government emporium for shopping etc - Four major shopping center and places of interest fro tourist are Pan Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, Fancy Bazaar and Uzan Bazaar - Evening River Cruise on the river Brahmaputra (depending on the river condition) - Over night stay at Guwahati.
