Kedarnath is a holy town nestled in the Himalayas. Located in Uttarakhand, it is one of the most sacred pilgrimages of Lord Shiva and is also one of the famous Char Dham sites. This scenic town offers a tranquil ambiance with its snow-white peaks, lush landscapes, green forests, and vibrant rhododendrons.

The Badrinath Temple, also known as the Badrinarayan Temple, is located in Uttarakhand's Badrinath town and is one of the Char Dham (four important pilgrimages) in the state. The four pilgrimage destinations, namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, are collectively known as Char Dham. These pilgrimage centers draw a large number of pilgrims each year, thus becoming the most important hubs of religious travel in Northern India.

Badrinath is located at an elevation of around 3,100 meters. Situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the Alaknanda River, this sacred town lies between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. The temple is believed to have been established by the sage Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. With Lord Vishnu as its presiding deity, the temple remains open for six months a year. During winter, it becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Haridwar to Guptakashi/Sitapur, 197 km, 9 hrs

  Checkout early morning from the Haridwar hotel.
  
  Drive to Guptakashi/Sitapur/Phata from Haridwar. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful hill roads.
  
  Arrival at the hotel by evening. Check-in at the hotel and relax.
  
  Dinner followed by rest in the hotel.

• Day 2 : Guptakashi/Sitapur to Kedarnath

  Wake up early and get ready for the Dham of Lord Shiva, i.e., Kedarnath, also known as the home of Lord Shiva.
  
  Take the shuttle service from Sonprayag to Gaurikund and start your trek thereafter.
  
  18 km trek to Kedarnath Temple. (You can also opt for dolly, pony, pitthu, or helicopter at your own cost.)
  
  Reach Kedarnath and visit the temple for the evening darshan after taking some rest.
  
  Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel/Guesthouse/GMVN Cottages.

• Day 3 : Kedarnath to Guptakashi

  Wake up early around 4 a.m. and witness the morning darshan. In the morning, you can go inside the Garbha Griha and see the hump of the Bull.
  
  After breakfast, trek down from Kedarnath to Sitapur/Guptakashi.
  
  Reach in the evening followed by dinner and rest.

• Day 4 : Guptakashi to Pipalkoti, 130 km, 7 hrs

  Wake up early.
  
  Have breakfast and check out from the hotel.
  
  Travel to Pipalkoti via Chopta. Enjoy sightseeing in Chopta Meadows.
  
  Arrival at Pipalkoti by 7:30 PM. Check-in at the hotel.

• Day 5 : Pipalkoti to Badrinath to Pipalkoti

  Early departure for Badrinath Ji.
  
  Morning darshan at the temple.
  
  Drive to Mana, which is the last Indian village.
  
  Drive back to Pipalkoti. Overnight stay at Pipalkoti.

• Day 6 : Pipalkoti to Haridwar, 140 km, 7 hrs

  Leave for Haridwar after breakfast.
  
  Drive via Devprayag and Rishikesh.
  
  Witness Vishnu Prayag, Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag on the way.
  
  Evening aarti at Haridwar and your trip ends.
