There is a temple at Gangotri dedicated to Mother Ganges. Thousands of pilgrims and trekker’s visit Gangotri and Source of Ganges every year. The physical source of The Ganges is now 19 km from Gangotri at Gaumukh. This trek follows the river upstream to Gaumukh and its higher meadow at Tapovan. This trip starts from the holy city of Rishikesh, known as & "Gateway to Himalayas". This exiting trek offers fantastic view of beautiful mountains like Shivling (6543m), Meru (6666m), and Bhagirathi group of mountains. Gangotri glacier is one of the largest glaciers in Indian Himalaya. There are many other notable peaks for climbing around Gangotri glacier like Choukhamba, Kedardome and Kharchakhund.
Rishikesh - Kalyani - Bhewra/Agoda (Drive 7-8 hrs and Trek 7km; 2-3hrs)
Early morning drive to Kalyani via Uttarkashi. A gradual uphill trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs brings you to the Agoda village. Walk another two km to our campsite at Bhewra. Surrounded by dense forests, it is an ideal place for the nature lover. Overnight in Tents.
Bhewra - Dodital (14km; 6hrs)
After breakfast steep walk through Oak and rhododendron forest to Dodital (3307m). The crystal clear lake and the surrounding dense forests create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Explore the surrounding areas. Overnight in Tents.
Dodital - Darwa Top - Dodital ( 12km; 5-6hrs)
Begin the trek ascending the Darwa Dhar Ridge ( 4115 m ) a view point of the trek and the watershed of the ASI Ganga and Yamuna River valleys. We can see Banderpunch massif and peaks towards Gangotri valley. Return to Dodital in the afternoon.Overnight in Tents.

Breakfast and trek down till bhewra. Set up camp for the day.

Bhewra - Sangamchatti - Rishikesh
After early breakfast, walk 7km downhill; 2hrs to road head and drive 8hrs to Rishikesh. Overnight in hotel.
