Everest Short View Trek Tour

A representative from Kantipur Holidays will meet us at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and transfer us to our designated hotel. We might rest after checking in or go to the Kantipur Holidays office. A welcome dinner with authentic Nepali food and a quick cultural presentation will be held in a typical Nepalese restaurant in the evening.

After breakfast today, we begin a guided tour of some of Kathmandu's most revered historical and spiritual landmarks, which are also regarded as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We go to the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, the holy Pashupatinath Hindu temple, the well-known Swayambhunath "Monkey Temple," and the Buddhist shrine Bouddhanath, which is also one of the biggest stupas in the world. We check our gear with our trekking guide at lunchtime, meet the other participants, and talk about our trip at the Kantipur Holidays office.

Today, you will be flying to Lukla, the gateway to Everest adventures. You will be dropped to the domestic airport for an early flight to Lukla. The short flight presents us with attractive views of the mountain peaks. From Lukla, you will make your way to Phakding, a beautiful settlement situated at the edge of Khumbu’s Dudh Koshi River Valley. Along the way, you can catch an amazing glimpse of the Kusum Kanguru Peak and other equally petrifying mountains.

We take the trail north up the Benkar valley, passing by a lovely pine grove. The entrance to Everest National Park is Monjo, which we reach after crossing the Dudh Koshi River and continuing past Chumoa. Later, after passing through Jorsale hamlet and a suspension bridge, we continue to walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We ascend steeply to reach Namche Bazaar, the principal hub of the Sherpa culture. If the weather is favorable, we can see Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse before arriving in Namche Bazaar.

This day is reserved for acclimatization. Namche Bazaar is the commercial hub of Khumbu. From Namche, you can watch amazing views of the Everest peak and many other neighboring Himalayan peaks as well, like the Thamserku, the Kongdi RI and the Ama Dablam among others. You can visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and the Everest Photo Gallery here. Moreover, you can also hike up to the Syangboche Airstrip that is located above the town. From Syangboche, you can catch good views of Namche below as well as the Himalayan peaks that surround the town in the distance. Likewise, you can visit to the Everest View Hotel, which boasts views of Everest peaks through all of its windows.

To begin today's expedition, ascend up to Syangboche's renowned airstrip. The Everest View Hotel is located directly above the airport and offers us a close-up view of the majestic Everest. We continue our ascent to Khumjung Village, which is encircled by the sacred Khumbila Mountains, Kondge, and Thamserku. We stop at the Edmund Hillary School and Khumjung Monastery, the latter of which is renowned for housing the head of the Yeti.

On the journey down to the Dudhkoshi River, we pass through several lovely settlements. We go on foot down a wooded track that will lead us to a riverbank. We then continue to ascend for another two hours or so through forests of fir and pine to reach Tengboche, a little town. The renowned Tengboche Gumba, the biggest monastery in Nepal's Khumbu region and located at 3,867 meters above sea level, is also located in the settlement. A panoramic panorama of the Himalayas, including Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Everest, can be seen as we travel the Gumba.

We will descend roughly 1500 feet/500 meters from Tengboche to the Dudh Koshi River via fir trees and rhododendron bushes. Before arriving at Kyangjuma, we continue on our trail and pass the settlements of Tashinga and Sansa. We get to enjoy breathtaking views of Ama-dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest while we're here

Before moving on to Monjo, we must first get to Namche Bazaar. After Kyangjuma, the trail winds through a number of twists as it clings to the steep wooded slope. When traveling along a forested track, we keep a look out for animals like mountain goats, snow leopards, vibrant pheasants, etc. We arrive at a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River after a long fall. Before we get at Monjo, we cross the river twice at different points.

Prior to ascending to the airfield in Chauri Kharka, the trail drops steeply. We cross the villages of Phakding and Chopling en route. The last ascent of the hike is from Chauri Kharka. Today is the final day you will share in your success with the local porters you met in Lukla because they won't be traveling with you to Kathmandu.

We fly to Kathmandu at the crack of dawn. We will be dropped off at our hotel by our trip leader, and the rest of the day is free. We can take a trip around Thamel, a well-known tourist destination in Kathmandu, to browse for trinkets. See some of the neighboring well-known tourist attractions. In either case, we'll have a farewell supper to commemorate the successful end of our trip.

Today marks the conclusion of our journey. Around three hours prior to our flight, a representative from Kantipur Holidays would drop us off at the airport. We will have plenty of time on the trip home to plan our upcoming excursion in the magnificent nation of Nepal.
