It nestles at an altitude of 2,050 mts above sea level, on a cup-shaped meadow and derived its name from several small local lakes dotted around it. Sanasar is often referred to as the hub for adventure sports and outdoor activities in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. En Route to Sanasar is Natha Top, which commands a stunning scenic view of the mighty Kishtwar Ranges of the Himalayas as well as the lower level of the Shivalik range. From Natha Top, you can easily view the Brahma Massif, featuring prominent peaks named as Flat Top and Brahma 1 and 2, respectively.

One activity that Sanasar is popular for is para-gliding and this is available in the months of April, May, August, September and October. The time you are up above the ground varies from a few minutes to longer - and much of this depends on wind conditions. The altitude normally varies between one hundred and fifty feet over the ground, to two hundred and fifty. The ride is done in tandem with an expert - you are strapped to him for safety. For those who find the climb back up the hill somewhat trying, ponies are available to ride back.

After breakfast check out from the hotel for river rafting. Along the Lidder River in Yennar - about 17 kilometres south of Pahalgam is where River Rafting commences. River Rafting runs are organized by Kashmir Rafting Operators Association which is supervised by J & K Tourism Department. The runs are 2 kilometres and 3 kilometres long and take about 30 to 45 minutes per spree. Enjoy local sightseeing. Rest of the day at leisure.Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast, go for local sightseeing. Visit Chandanwadi - Gateway to Amarnath Ji yatra, Betaab Valley, Aru Valley. In the evening, drive to Gulmarg (2440 Meters above Sea level). It is one of the most beautiful hill stations and also called "Meadows of Flower". It has world's highest golf course and Gulmarg is also famous for winter sports like skiing. After Breakfast,visit to famous Pari Mahal, Shankaracharya temple situated on top of a hill where you can have a view of whole Srinagar City. Leave for local sightseeing tour to famous Nishat Garden known as 'Garden of pleasure' built in 16th century (1633) by Mughal Emperor Asif Khan. Then visiting Shalimar Garden known as 'Garden of love' built in 16th century (1619) by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his beloved wife Noor Jehan or (Mehr-un-Nissa) also visit Chashme Shahi. After breakfast, full day tour of Sonmarg (meadow of gold), it has sheer scenic splendor. The very way-a metalled road - snakes through massive mountains laden with forests and firs. After a breath taking journey from Srinagar you come across Sindh meanders that are abounded with trout & Mahseer. Onwards the valley opens up to a meadow. Ponies can be hired for a trip up to Thajiwas glacier - a major attraction during the summer months. Sonmarg's importance lies in the fact that it is the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh.
