After breakfast, we started for an excursion to Tsomgo lake,which has a different charm as the lake is situated at 12,400 feet whereas Gangtok is at 5,500 feet. Change of vegetation altitudinal varieties is a must to observe. Lake is regarded as sacred as the meaning itself speaks of the head of the lake. Through a winding road with Rhododendron bushes and shrubs and especially during the winter season-carpeted by snow, arrive at Nathula after 14 kms. Nathula (14,600 feet) is an Indi-Chinese picket and only passes to cross over to Tibet. 3 kms of drive through a beautiful landscape, arrive at Baba mandir (13000 feet), Baba Harbhajan Sahib Mandir is a wishful temple, people offer prayers and seek fulfillment of wishes. Later returned to Gangtok. Nathula is confirmed only on the availability of permits. Nathula is an optional tour, payment has to be done to the driver directly which comes to Rs.1500/per car. After Breakfast proceeds to Pelling 112 km, 5 hours drive, Enroute visit Char Dham/ Siddeshwar Dham, Sai Mandir, Samdruptse & Ravangla Buddha Park. Pelling is a small town in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim, at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga. The late-17th-century Buddhist Sanga Choling Monastery has mountain views. Pemayangtse Monastery features wall paintings, sculptures and a gold-plated statue of Guru Padmasambhava. Overlooking a valley, the 17th-century Rabdentse Palace, now in ruins, still has evidence of the king’s bedroom and kitchen. Overnight stay at Pelling.
