Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Welcome to Iceland

  Departure from the UK - arrival at Keflavik Airport. Individual transfer by Flybus shuttle bus from Keflavik Airport to your accommodation in Reykjavík Hotel Klettur or similar 3 star standard, where you will spend the night. Reykjavík is modern city and so much to do and see. We will provide some ideas to help you explore Iceland's capital on your own.

• Day 2 : South Coast of Iceland

  Today your adventure tour will kick off by taking you to see some of the most amazing sights in South Iceland. Journeying through scenic countryside, we will get views of two legendary volcanoes, Eyjafjallajökull, and the stratovolcano, Hekla. Your first stop will give you the opportunity to do something very unusual, at Seljalandsfoss waterfall you can walk behind the beautiful cascade, there is some splashing, so putting on rainwear is a good idea! Rainbows are often seen around these falls, and also around the tumbling cascade which we will visit next, Skógafoss waterfall. The scintillating Skógafoss cascade drops 60 m, the views are simply magnificent, we give you time to look around and take photos.
  
  Reynisfjara, is a gorgeous black sand beach with a magnificent basalt column cave and the Reynisdrangar basalt formations rising from the waves like giant troll-like figurines. This beach is famous for many things, among them very powerful waves, so stand back a little from the water´s edge! A lunch stop is made at Vík, this attractive coastal village is the southernmost settlement in Iceland.
  
  The next segment of the tour will show you totally unique landscapes, shaped by the combined power of great glaciers and volcanoes. Your accommodation for the night will be in the countryside, we enjoy dinner (food and drink is NOT included, other than breakfast). If the forecast is suitable, early and late season you are in an ideal place to see the northern lights. In summer there is the magic of the midnight sun!

• Day 3 : Glacier Day

  Your first stop of the day is at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, which is one of the most surreal wonders of nature. Icebergs which have broken free from the edge of the retreating Breiðamerkurjökull glacier float in a slow procession towards the Atlantic. In summer you have the opportunity to take a boat trip between these jostling, blue-spangled ice giants. As you can imagine demand for these trips is very high, we therefore recommend you book your boat trip when you organize your tour. Visiting the nearby Diamond Beach is an absolute must, you will see the icebergs which the tide has taken up onto the dramatic black sand – where their translucent icy forms glint like diamonds. The name of this beach is Breiðamerkurssandur, there are no prizes for guessing why it is now better known as the Diamond Beach!
  
  Vatnajökull National Park has been the setting for James Bond scenes, and many other screen productions have shot footage there, including the Game of Thrones. Being present in this environment is so much more powerful and magnificent than watching these vistas on a screen.
  
  Breiðamerkurjökull is one of many glacier tongues radiating out from Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe. These glacier tongues are fabulous for glacier hiking, our certified glacier guide will greet you, issue a safety briefing and give you your glacier gear. You are then ready for your glacier hiking adventure tour. Your skilled guide will show you crevasses, the moulins (French for mill) which can delve to the base of the icecap, draining meltwater, and other ice formations. Our glacier guides love to answer your questions, so if there is anything you want to know don´t be shy. The glacier is such a dynamic environment, there is always movement, you will gear groans as the ice moves, and also, often water trickling. A glacier hike is an epic experience, one to treasure forever.
  
  Your accommodation for the night will be in Reykjavík, Hveragerði or Selfoss.

• Day 4 : Golden Circle and the Secret Lagoon

  Today you will do the Golden Circle, the most popular sightseeing route in Iceland, you then get the chance to totally relax at the Secret Lagoon for a fabulous start to this action-packed tour. On the way to your first Golden Circle attraction you will pass through lovely scenery and attractive towns and villages.
  
  Þingvellir National Park (Thingvellir), is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its outstanding history and unique geological features. Throughout the world Þingvellir is famous for being the place where the tectonic plates have moved apart, something which is ongoing! The Eurasian and North American continents continue to separate at a rate of around 2 cm per annum. The Alþing, the Icelandic Parliament, held its inaugural meeting at Þingvellir in the year 930 AD. The Icelandic Parliament has the distinction of being the oldest continually operating national government in the world. Visit Peningagjá, the money gorge, throw a coin and make a wish, see Þingvallavatn, the stunning lake and the rugged Almannagjá gorge.
  
  The power of Gullfoss waterfall is stupendous, the Hvítá river flows down from its source at Langjökull glacier, then crashes its way through the huge canyon, dropping 32 m. There are two stages to this drop, the mighty flow pivots a little before vanishing into vast a crevasse. The Geysir geothermal area is one of the most often visited places in Iceland. Who doesn´t want to witness an erupting geyser? You will see the now inactive Great Geysir, many trickling and gurgling hot springs, and the star of the show, Strokkur, the geyser hot spring which obediently erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes the scalding spout can reach a height of 40 m. There is always an atmosphere of great excitement at Geysir – ready, camera, action!
  After so much excitement the tranquility of the Secret Lagoon awaits you, on the edge of the peaceful geothermal village of Flúðir. This lagoon is large and surrounded by nature. If you have not quite had enough excitement, or you want to get another geyser photo, there is even small geysir beside the pool!
  
  After three days of incredible sights and experiences we will drop you off in Reykjavík at around 18:00 (6PM)

• Day 5 : Departure

  Optional Excursion: Visit to the Blue Lagoon
  
  If flight time allows, you can take an optional trip to the world famous Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa on your way to the airport. The lagoon is ideally located between Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport and therefore it is convenient to use this time to visit before your flight. Enjoy the Blue Lagoon for 2-3 hours. You can book a treatment if you like, have a lunch at the Blue Lagoon or just relax in this wonderful spa.
  
  Continue on to Keflavík International Airport about two hours before your flight. If you have a morning flight back, you may be able to visit the lagoon on arrival instead if flight time allows.
