Gorkha Short Trekking is designed with the purpose of trekking to an off-the-beaten-track region of Nepal where there is varied terrain of moderate difficulty, spectacular mountain views, interesting villages, historical palaces and friendly local people who see few trekkers. We avoid the major trekking routes and get to experience a very different side of Nepal! You are walking throughout native villages to experience wonderful Nepalese hospitality and cross-cultural heritage. Gorkha's main attraction is the magnificent Gorkha Durbar with a fort, a palace and a temple with excellent views of the surrounding valleys, and the Manaslu range.
Kathmandu to Ghairung Via Mankamana
We start from Kathmandu and spend 3 hours driving through scenic foothills to Kurintar (103km distance, about 3 hours' drive). Kurintar have a cable car station connecting to Manakamana Temple. The Cable car rides over the distance of 2.8kms in 10 minutes more or less. Manakamana is a sacred place of the Hindu goddess Bhagwati, built-in 17th century. Manakamana is also believed as a wish-fulfilling deity. We visit Manakamana temple and surrounding village and overnight stay in a hotel.

Trek to Ghairung Baskot
After breakfast, we begin our trek uphill to Shidha Lakhan Gupha than walk to radge of the hill with a beautiful view of Gorkha bazaar, Mount Manaslu, Boudha Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang ranges. About 3/4 hours walk we stop for lunch at Tinmanee Bhanjyang. After Lunch about 1-hour walk to Baskot village for the overnight stay in a local house. This is where trekkers and tourism have not overly influenced the villages and local people. This is an amazing hiking in the southern belt of historical Gorkha district through spectacular diverse scenery, interesting villages with experiencing various cultures.

Trek to Gorkha
After breakfast, we begin our trek uphill to Phirphire and then downhill to Kaule Bhangar ( the village of the first martyr of Nepal Lakhan Thapa). We serve lunch and Daurali. After lunch walk to Gorkha bazaar for an overnight stay at a good hotel

Drive back to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu and leisure time. In the evening we have a farewell dinner with a Nepali cultural dance show.
