    Brahmaputra River

Your journey begins with your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, where you will meet your driver and transfer directly to your hotel to settle in. Spend the rest of the day getting accustomed to the region by heading down to the Brahmaputra riverfront for a scenic sunset river cruise on the water or taking an easy stroll along the riverside promenade. Round off the day with a relaxed introduction to Assamese cuisine, sampling local delicacies such as duck curry, bamboo shoot preparations, or a traditional Assamese thali, before resting early to gear up for the hill roads ahead.

From there, drive into the outskirts of Upper Shillong to visit the Lady Hydari Botanical Area and the Air Force Museum, which exhibits aircraft, uniforms, and military history of the eastern sector. Afterwards, head out toward the village of Smit to reach Laitlum Canyon, famously known as the "End of the World." Spend a few hours walking along the dramatic edge of the canyon, marveling at the plunging gorges, misty valleys, and tiny winding trails that lead to hidden hamlets thousands of feet below. If your fitness permits, push onward for another 1.5 to 2 hours of rocky trail trekking deeper into the gorge to reach Rainbow (Indradhanush) Falls, where the afternoon sun creates a dazzling rainbow over the turquoise plunge pool. Afterwards, drive down to Dawki and continue slightly upstream to the riverside village of Shnongpdeng on the Umngot River.
