Hampta pass trek is the area where you find variation of terrain from lush greenry of Kullu region to the arid desert of Spiti. We can say that it is all in one trek. You will experience different and unique varieties flowers that are found in mountain only all the trek through. The beautiful flowers enhances the beauty of the landscape. One may observe greenry on the one side of the valley and a cold desert on the opposite view. There is a gradual ascent which helps in reaching the zenith easily and the other side of the pass is steep which gives the aderaline rush mountaineers seek. Deo Tippa and Indrakila are visible and stream crossing through icy cold waters is the best of the thrilling experiences of Hampta Pass Trek.
The trek over here is found to be easy to moderate in gradient and it lies in the Pir Panjal range of Himachal Pradesh, goes upto the 14000 feet above the sea level. The suitable and most preferred time to visit here is from June to September. Days are moderately cold but temperature at night is freezing. It is the passage between the kullu valley and Lahaul’s Chandra Valley. The pass over here is visited by Shepherds usually and if you want to come out of the mobile network region for serenity and peace then it is the right place for you.
Manali to Chika Via Jobra
Expedition starts from Manali and it reaches upto Jobra. Manali which is situated 6700feet above sea level is good place to adapt a bit before starting the tough trek. Generally, it takes 2 hours to arrive at Jobra which is at an altitude of 9800ft. The drain called Rani comes into the way and that flows in between the supreme meadows. The sight looks like it has taken from some movie. You may move towards Chika which is a better route by climbing the hill and then descending. The rani river flowing in the middle makes the place habitable for the tents.

Chika to Balu ka Ghera
Looking from Chika, you can’t find Balu ka Ghera which will be our next destination and we will follow the river which would lie on the right of our path. The trail leads the way to a slope of boulders and terrain which is rough but the task of crossing is easy and can be accomplished without any difficulty. Moving ahead, you will find a waterfall which is the perfect one to fill the empty bottles before going on. Ultimately, we will reach Balu ka Ghera which is a campsite perfect for camping being a flat ground at an elevation of about 11900 feet.

Balu ka Ghera to Siagoru
Hampta Pass is at 14100 feet and we will be reaching there today by splitting the journey in two halves. The first half will be a steady ascent on moderate slope to Hampta pass and then a sharp descent to Sia Goru. The days starts with moving to the same mountains we spotted the day before and the trail is along the bank of the river. View is amazing. The next hour walk will take you to the first plateau covered with thick and fresh snow. The Deo Tibet peak is just infront of you. The second half is trickier and it is the descent and the decline is so steep that you would not be able to locate the base of the mountain. The route meanders but you may spot Spiti from this point. It will take another 90 minutes to reach base and then Siagoru is the next destination going from the flat land.

Chatru to Manali via Rohtang Pass
The coming back to Manali is lead today I.e the 5th day and it will be a seven hour long journey leading to Manali and then you would head towards Delhi with an overnight journey.
