Roopkund Trek

The first day of your journey is today but trekking is not yet started and you will ride to Sankri. As far as the weather is concerned, it might not be cold but definitely humid. The enthusiasm will be kept by the spectacular views. You will be able to have view of clean water of your known river Yamuna. Their will be a village nearby famous for some myth logically worshipping Kaurawas. Mori is the village filled with valley of marigold flower.

You will grab the breakfast and then hop on for a drive to Dhaula which is around 26ms off road drive and will take about an hour. Trek will be started form there and it will not be tiresome as the whole pathway is smooth. You will find and visit the famous temple of Kinnaur at Sewa and you have choice to camp at campsite or in the village Sewa. Camping in between the rocks will let you feel that you are staying on the beach.

This day you need to adapt yourself form normal to moderate and then tough trek. Our team wil be there for you. You will be walking for 3 hours at a stretch normally but then there will be an ascent for one complete hour. The trek starts from crop field and suddenly you find yourself into a woodland. There will be a bridge ahead belongs to no state as it divides the two states. Keep enjoying the walk and rest in tents afterwards.

This is the day when you will be crossing the highest and last village and there will be a continuous ascent for 4-5 hours. All you need to recollect your energy before the start. You will find a wooden bridge between the dense forest. The route magically ascends in a meandering way from the bridge. You need to refill the bottles at Selwan Khad as it would be the last water point for the day. You need not worry as there will be many stalls selling tea and water bottles too. Spend the night in tents and rejuvenate yourself.

The morning you will enjoy at the campsite will be blissful and the trail ahead is well defined through the field of Jhaka Village and as you walk for next 30 minutes, you will enter a forest on which Rhododendron trees will be seen that of different colours. Moving ahead for a few kilometers will land you to Saruwas Thatch and you will be taking a halt before moving ahead. You will find Bhoj trees as well. Moving downwards will lead you to the Dhandreyash Thatch and you will be enjoying the meadows of Himalayan Range.

There will be a change in altitude and we need to take necessary precautions to avoid AMS. There will be a short session about how to trek in snow and a few movement techniques like sidestepping and cutting throught the snow will be learnt. Get yourself warmed up and then reach to the base of Dhandreyash and from there we will cross many rivulets of Rupin. There will be a walk on rocks along the hill and you may see a trail going in between the thick snow.

Just one hour of climb will take you to different views and amazing sights which are way different than Rati Pheri site. The views from the previous site are of thick snow. We now also take the utmost care to reach Rupin Pass Gully. Refreshments will be served once we reach Rupin Pass. The trail to Rupin pass is short but very uncertain and has risk involved as stones fall from above. Way to Ronti Gad is a gentle wak followed by a sharp descendant. Camping will be coldest and adventurous too

The trek of the last day of tour will be a downward climb but tiresome as altitude changes at once. It should be slow to avoid any injury. It will be followed by gentle walk heading to Ronti Gad Valley and we would have been lost 1500 feet of height exiting the narrow valley and opening ourselves up to views of Mount Kinner kailash. Rupin Pass is out of view now. There are many paths that are going to Sangla from Sangla Kanda. We will reach Sangla and Baspa Village within an invterval of about an hour. You may hire any vehicle from the road of Sangla to Shimla.
