Hamta Pass Trek Tour

After breakfast, we will drive you the six kilometers to Jagatsukh Village which is home to a wonderful Shiva temple. Our trek then starts with a gentle climb to Banara Village before continuing through forest trails which are abundant with flowers in the summers until we arrive in the meadows of Sarotu Thach where we will camp overnight.

Today, we traverse across the slopes of Hamta. We will reach the tree line to see impressive views of the Pir Panjal and Brigu Lake Mountains. Then we continue with a gentle climb to the campsite at Raudi Khodi.

The first leg of this route is a gentle climb through meadows before following the Nallah River. The rest of our route will include several stream crossings as well as crossing the Hamta River. The last of our journey will be truly above the tree line where you can see the landscape change and enjoy the wonderful views which continue all the way to out camp at Balu Ka Gera, an area around which wild bears roam in the winters.

Having left the campsite, we will begin our ascent to Hamta Pass (4268m). This begins with a short easy trail along a stream before arriving at a lake at the foot of Hamta Pass. From here, another tail takes us upwards and upon reaching the top we will be rewarded with incredible views of Deo Tibba and Indersan. Having enjoyed the views, we cross the pass and enter Lahoul Valley where we have a steep descent to our camp at Shira Gorg.

After an early start, we start our journey to Chatru. Our route will allow us to follow the beautiful Chandra River and Chatru is surrounded by spectacular mountains. Here our jeeps will collect you to return you to Manali.
