After breakfast proceed to Punakha across Dochula Pass (3,100m). The pass offers the most spectacular view over the greater eastern Himalayas including highest peak of Bhutan. Tea break will be at Cafeteria. En-route make short excursion about an hour to the temple of divine madman, also well known as the temple of fertility. It’s fascinating to walk through villages and the rice fields. Afternoon visit Punakha the capital city of Bhutan till 1955 and still the Je Khenpo; the Chief of Abbot resides there during the winter season. Punakha Dzong was built by a Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1638 and situated at the junction of Pho Chu and Mo Chu Rivers.

Morning short excursion to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten. This Chorten is dedicated to our present crown prince and for the world peace. Which has fascinating paintings and statues of tantric teachings. Hike will take you around 45 minutes each way. Later drive to Paro via Thimphu. Free walk in Thimphu City, the best place to buy souvenir from Bhutan and then drive to Paro for overnight stay. Lunch will be served at Thimphu. Check into hotel. Evening at leisure.

Morning hike to Taktshang Monastery, which takes about 15 minutes drive to the starting, point. The hike to Taktsang takes about 2 hour uphill till monastery. Second Buddha visited and meditated in 8th century at this particular site. The Desi Tenzin Rabgye built existing style temple in the 17th century. Lunch at cafeteria. Afternoon visit ruined Drugyel Dzong, the place of historic war between Tibet and Bhutan in 17th century. Stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, built in 7th century during the reign of first Tibetan king; Evening leisure walks in Paro mini town.
