A lot of things can be said about Hue – the last imperial capital of Vietnam (from 1802 to 1945). Quaint and old-time charm are words that come to mind. There are plenty of historic and venerated buildings to be contemplated, history to be learned, and memories to be made. The morning is dedicated to exploring the historic Hue Citadel – home to the Imperial City with three circles of ramparts. Moving past the exterior circle, you will arrive at the Hue Capital Citadel. As you move further to the second circle, you will see the Imperial Citadel. Last but not least, the Forbidden City – once reserved for the Emperor and his family, is located right in the center and surrounded by the last circle of rampart. In the afternoon, we will continue to visit the Imperial Museum, Tu Hieu Pagoda, and round off the day with a visit to the vibrant Dong Ba Riverside Market.
