This exciting luxury safari takes you to the spectacle of some of the wildlife highlights of East and Southern Africa. From the epic migration of animals in the Masai Mara in Kenya, to the awe-inspiring wonder of the Victoria Falls and the diversity of game-rich Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. From millions of wildebeest to hundreds of elephants and encounters with the big cats of Africa while staying in luxury safari accommodation and being wined and dined. Short Itinerary 1-3 Masai Mara - Kenya Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer by road to Wilson Airport where you will catch a small plane to the Musiara airstrip in the Masai Mara, followed by a short road transfer to Governor’s Camp or Little Govenor’s Camp for three nights. The setting is magical. So much so that almost a century ago it was reserved, exclusively, for Kenya’s colonial Governors. Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, it’s waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Some of the 37 tents line the riverbank, tucked into the forest they enjoy uninterrupted views over the Mara River, others have views across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. Created in 1972 Governors’ Camp set new standards in luxury for a tented camp. Today it’s still Africa’s best. Exceptionally highly trained and experienced guides to give our clients un-matched game-viewing and photographic opportunities in the world’s prime wildlife area. We are in the heart of what is widely considered to be the best game viewing area of the Masai Mara. 4 Nairobi Return to Musiara airstrip for your air transfer back to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. You will spend the night at Ole Sereni or Hemingways Hotel for one night. With the stunning greens and golds of Nairobi National Park’s landscape punctuated by giraffe, zebra, antelope and buffalo lounging near our waterhole, the views alone make Ole-Sereni one-of-a-kind. Add to that the convenience of our location, between Nairobi’s international and regional airports, and our world-class restaurants, conferencing facilities and spa, and you get a hotel that perfectly complements the experience of East Africa. 5-6 Livingstone - Zambia Today you will catch a commercial flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Livingstone, Zambia. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Toka Leya Camp for two nights. Overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and some of its islands, Toka Leya Camp is splendidly situated in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Twelve spacious en-suite safari-style tents (including three family tents) with expansive decks soak up the dramatic views and active wildlife. The camp’s generous dining, lounge and bar areas offer scenic relaxation and are complemented by an infinity pool, a sundeck for sumptuous meals and a convivial fire pit for night-time gatherings. Toka Leya overlooks the mighty Zambezi River where hippo, crocodile and elephant are often seen, as well as an incredible diversity of birdlife. It is also centrally located in the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park which hosts species such as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and white rhino. The occasional predator is also seen. Several sought-after bird species are found, including African finfoot, half-collared kingfisher, African skimmer (seasonal), Schalow’s turaco and rock pratincole (seasonal). 7-9 Hwange National Park - Zimbabwe Clearing immigration formalities en route, transfer by road from Toka Leya to Victoria Falls, stopping en route to take in the beauty of this natural wonder en route for your flight to Davisons Camp in Hwange National Park where you will spend the next three nights. Nestled discreetly beneath a grove of false mopane trees, the remote Davison’s Camp is found in the private Linkwasha Concession – one of the most prolific wildlife areas in Hwange National Park. Hidden within the shade of the treeline, this classic African tented camp, with eight tents and one family unit, overlooks an open plain and a productive waterhole. Hwange’s mix of different veld and landscape types means that game viewing is productive year round. Wildlife frequently encountered in our area includes lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, cheetah leopard, spotted hyaena, cheetah, giraffe, sable, roan, blue wildebeest, impala, waterbuck and reedbuck. In summer, wildebeest, zebra and eland are found in abundance on the open plains, while in winter elephant congregate in enormous numbers around the waterholes. 10 Victoria Falls - Departure Transfer back to Linkwasha airstrip for your flight back to Victoria Falls International Airport and your onwards arrangements. We suggest that if you use the Kenya Airways flights you can easily add on 4 days in beautiful Cape Town in South Africa to this itinerary.
