Kausani is a hill station and a village situated at the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. Every backpacker’s dream and widely famous for the spectacular sights which are nearly hypnotic and nearly unmatched. Even Mahatma Gandhi was so bewitched by the sheer beauty that he himself described this place as the "Switzerland of India". Kausani is situated at an average elevation of 1890 meters above the sea-level. Kausani is blessed with all the right ingredients including the lush green valley, deep pine forests and the majestic mountains and is famous for offering a panoraminc view of 350 kms wide Himalayan peaks such as Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli.

Kausani was previously known as Valna, this place is blessed with many attractions and a sight of sunset so captivating, that it is sure to put you in a spell. This beautiful Hill station is known for its moderate climate with mild summers and really cold winters. The summer arrives here in the month of March and stays till June with an average temperature ranging between 25 degrees and 11 degrees. This is the perfect time for tourists to visit Kausani. July brings the monsoon to the Kausani which ends at the late August as this place witnessess medium rainfall. Winters arrives here in late October, Winters are quite cold with temperature ranging between 15 °C to 2 °C.

The total population of Kausani is 2,408 as per the population census of 2011 and the literacy rate of the kausani village was 87.80 which is more than that of Uttarakhand. Kausani is ideal to visit with your family. The sheer beauty of it attracts tourists throughout the year.

There is a museum dedicated entirely to Mahatama Gandhi in Kausani in Anashakti Ashram and home-turned-museum of famous poet Sumitranandan Pant. There is a small market in Kausani, you can buy widely famous Kausani shawls and Kausani tea from there. Kausani has been turned into an eco-friendly destination for tourists to learn and explore about the culture and the way of life in the hills of Uttarakhand.

Day 1

Arrival Kathgodam

Arrival Delhi railway station meet and greet by our representative, at 15:00Pm Hrs to board Train No.15035 Utr Sampark Kranti Express. (Dep 16:00 Hrs ). On arrival Kathgodam transfer to hotel overnight stay at Kathgodam

Day 2

Kathgodam to Kausani via Ranikhet (Distance 190 kms & 6 hrs. journey)

After breakfast drive to Kausani, en-route sightseeing Ranikhet an attractive town in the Himalayas fringed by the rivers Kosi & Gomti. On a bright day, from the uneven terrains in Kausani (at 6,201ft) you get an uninterrupted view of the 365-km stretch of the snow-capped Himalayas. On arrival check-in to your hotel, Overnight stay in Kausani

Day 3

Kausani

Baijnath Temple

After breakfast visit the Gandhi Ashram from where Himalayan peaks are clearly visible; also visit some other viewing points in town. Go on an interesting excursion to the Baijnath temple complex, along the Gompti River; you’ll come across shrines built between the 09th & 12th centuries that are an architectural delight to watch. Overnight stay in Kausani.

Day 4

Departure

After Breakfast check out from hotel and drive back to Kathgodam. Your Uttarakhand travel package concludes with a drop to the railway station at 14:00 PM for cath the train 12039 KGM Anvt Shatabdi Exp. for your onward journey home.

15 Days to 30 Days prior to Arrival: 50% of the total package cost.
30 Days & More: 10% of package cost (and taxes are not refunded in any case)
