It is situated at a distance of about 2 km from Munnar town at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea. It is a tribute to the pioneers, whose toils and commitment transformed Munnar in to a major tea plantation centre of Kerala. • Tata Tea Museum showcases pieces of antiquity. The most prominent among them is the burial urn excavated from the vicinity of Periakanal Estate, which can be dated back to 2nd century BC. Rotorvane of 1905, Pelton Wheel used at Kanniamallay Estate in1920s, a rail engine wheel of the Kundale Valley Light Railway used in between 1900 – 1950, etc. are some of the items exhibited here. Kundla Dam • Visit Asia's first arch dam, nestled amidst scenic hills and tea plantations.The lake is surrounded by lush greenery, cherry blossoms (seasonally), and eucalyptus trees. It's a great spot for photography • Mattupetty Dam: Mattupetty Lake and Dam, which lie 13 km from Munnar, enroute Top Station, at an altitude of 1700 mt, are popular picnic spot with visitors. The lake and dam surrounded by wooden hills and tea plantations, makes a great view.The Shola forests around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and bird watching, with the variety of birds found there. Small streams and waterfalls cut through the tract here and there, which again adds more attraction to the place. Echo Point • One of the popular sightseeing places in Munnar is the Echo Point which is located at a distance of 15 kilometers away from Munnar. The point is known for its natural echo phenomenon which is what attracts tourists from all over. People can hear their name reverberating around the surroundings again and again as they shout out their name. Situated at an altitude of 600 ft. above sea level, it also offers a spectacular view of the enchanting valleys below and surroundings covered in a blanket of lush greenery. Tourists can take a stroll, soak in the misty landscape or take an exciting boat ride in a nearby lake. Kerala is a major producer and exporter of Coir fibers, and coir made products to the world. These are extracted from the coconut husks and can be used to make products like floor mats, doormats, brushes, mattresses, etc. It is also used in upholstery padding, sacking, horticulture, brush making, string making, rope making, etc. You can have a visit to any coir industry and have a look at the different processes involved.) • Mullakkal Raja Rajeswari Temple: (Mullakkal Raja Rajeswari Temple is a very famous shrine of Alleppey that is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is located at a distance of 4 Kms from Alappuzha Railway Station. Here two annual festivals the Navratri festival and the Thaipooyakavadi festival is celebrated. Navratri festival is celebrated in the month of October/November and Thaipooyakavadi festival is celebrated in the month of November/December. During this time colorful processions are held in the evening that is witnessed by thousands of devotees.
