The temple city of central India, Khajuraho is set in the Bundelkhand zone of Madhya Pradesh. Khajuraho is well-known for its exquisitely carved temples which feature authentic Hindu art and culture. Crafted from sandstone, Khajuraho temples are popular for their unique rock carvings that portray a lot of passion.
The city houses the famous Khajuraho Group of Monuments, which is a group of Hindu and Jain Temples. All these temples feature Nagara style architectural symbolism and erotic sculptures. These temples are one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. Every tourist attraction of Khajuraho takes the visitors back to time of the Chandela Dynasty. A number of tourists visit the city every year to have a look at the famous Khajuraho Group of Monuments.
It is tough to pen down about the number of temples and other tourists attractions in Khajuraho. Some famous temples and attractions of Khajuraho include Archaeological Museum, Lakshmi Temple, Kandariya Mahadev Temple, Chatturbhuj Temple, Lakshamana Temple, Kalinjar Fort, and Chitragupta Temple.
