Ladakh Cultural Tour

Arrive Delhi by International flight. After a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for check-in. After breakfast, take a guided tour of Ladakh Cultural Tour Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of Shah Jehanabad. Visiting the great Jama Masjid, Red Fort followed by walk through Chandi Chowk, the old marketplace of Shah Jahanabad, now a picturesque bazaar. Post Lunch visit Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat later drive by India Gate & President's House. Also visit Humayun's Tomb & Qutub Minar in New Delhi .

Early Morning after breakfast transfer to Airport to board the flight to Leh, The Land of endless discovery. Upon arrival you are met by our representative & transferred to our Hotel. Today is day for rest & acclimatisation. Later in the afternoon walk around Leh town & a visit to Leh Market.

After breakfast leave for the famous Alchi monastery, which is the only monastery in Ladakh on flat ground. En route visit Likir monastery perched on a hilltop & overlooking Likir village. Later drive to Uleytokpo campsite, which one of the most beautiful campsites in Ladakh region. Evening at leisure by the bank of river.

After breakfast leave Uleytokpo for Lamayuru monastery. Enroute pass through Khaltsi, known for its famous apricots & apples. From here another 22 Kms drive to Lamayuru after climbing high mountain loops. Visit the Lamayuru Monastery, oldest & most spectacularly set monastery in Ladakh & was founded in the 10th Century BC. Later in the afternoon drive back to Leh which will take about 5 hours drive.

After breakfast take a full day excursion to Khardung la pass, highest Motorable pass in the World at a height of 5602 mtrs . At the top enjoy the chill factor & raw beauty of snow capped mountain. In the evening drive back to the Leh.

Leave early morning with packed breakfast & lunch to Pangong Lake. Ascend Changla Pass (5486 m), enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages below the Pass. After crossing the Pass ,there a short drive to the western shore of the Pangong lake. Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop of the Lake. This famous blue & Turqoise Lake is 5-6 Km wide & over 144 Km long with 2/3rd of it running the other side of INDO-TIBETAN BORDER & 1/3rd in India. Terrain is to see by yourself , not to be described by us . Late afternoon drive back to Leh .

After breakfast proceed for Indus Valley monastery tour. Start with a visit to Shey, the ancient capital of Ladakh. The monastery here has a huge gold-gilded statue of Buddha, with a large silver lamp burning in front of the statue. Then visit Thicksey Monastery (Gompa), an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. The monastery has a beautiful 30 m high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha, the Buddha of the future. Drive further to visit the famous Hemis Gompa, founded in the year 1630. Later visit the Stok Palace, the Royal residence of the King of Stok & the museum that has a rich collection of Ancient Ladakhi artefacts .

The two-day festival of monastic dance in July/August at Hemis Monastery is worth visiting .

Morning post breakfast transfer to Airport to catch the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi assistance to check in at our Hotel . We suggest a visit to Akshardham Temple . In the evening free for Delhi markets and shopping .

Morning post breakfast we drive to Agra , the erstwhile capital of India under Mughal & known for Taj Mahal - Eternal Poetry of love, built by emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Visit this' Wonder of the World' followed by Agra Fort. Later in the afternoon take an excursion to Sikandara, Akbar's tomb on ourl drive back to Delhi.
