Leh - Ladakh 5 nights 6 days

Welcome to your 'Super Saver Ladakh' tour Arrive into Leh airport on your own arrangements. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for acclimatisation. In the evening you can stroll to the market area at your own convenience.

Today, proceed on a full day excursion visiting Shey Palace, the 15th century summer palace and the monastery of Leh's Royal family; the 800 year old gompa at Thiksey built on a hilltop, modeled on the famous Potala Palace in Lhasa. Later, visit Hemis Monastery, hidden in a gorge, the largest and wealthiest gompa in Ladakh., Enroute visit The Druk Padma Karpo Institute ( famous as the school in "3 Idiots"). Also visit Shanti stupa and Shankar monastery .

Today, proceed on a full day excursion to Alchi, situated on the banks of Indus River. The monastery of Alchi is famous for its 1000 year old wall paintings which exist in a dark room and can be seen under torch light. En route visit the Likir Monestery, famous for its giant statue of Maitreya Buddha and its numerous old Tankhas. Later visit the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and Hall of Fame Museum. Also enjoy a photo stop at the sangam of Indus and Zanskar rivers.

In the morning, proceed to visit the amazing Pangong Lake to the east of Leh, crossing Changla Pass 17500 ft / 5300 mts. Pangong is one of the largest lakes in the Himalayas spanning 140 kms in length and 3-10 kms in width, half of which is in Tibet. Explore the crystal clear blue salt water lake. Later, return to Leh.

This morning, proceed for excursion to Khardungla Pass - the world's highest motorable road (5602 mts).. Return to Leh in the afternoon. The evening is at leisure to explore the Leh bazaar for souvenirs or visit Leh Jokhang / Leh mosque by foot.
