Leh Lamayuru Trek

Arrive Leh ex Delhi by flight. Assistance at Airport and transfer to Hotel. The rest of the day is free for rest and acclimatization. Overnight Hotel.

Full day acclimatization.

YangthangLeh - Likir - Yangtang - 3500 Mts. - 3 hrs trek. Drive by Jeep to Likir where you meet our pre - arranged mules and commence trek to Yangtang with full kitchen gear and staff. Follow the road for a while and then take a shortcut and cross the river which comes from the gompa. Take a good path, then leave the last house and enter arid terrain. Gradual climb to a small pass, the Pobe -la(3550m). From the pass, we go to the village of Sumdo, taking shortcuts or the trail. Cross the river, leave the village and carry on through a small, dry valley until reaching the summit of Charatse - la ( 3650m). From the pass, you arrive in Yangtang. Overnight camp in tents.

3 hrs trek. We walk down the valley to Rizong Gompa , located in quite valley. First we reach the Nunnery and then about a kilometer further on we see the monastery towering up above us. Return the same way back to Yangtang for overnight camp.

2 ½ hrs trek. Trek down to the valley of Wulle. Good bridge across the river. Then climb for about an hour to the Sermanchan -la ( 3750 m). There are views down to the beautiful village of Himis - Shukpachu from the pass. Easy descent through the fields and drops steeply down to cross the Akheur Tokpo and emerges above the Gompa overlooking beautiful pastures. Arrive Hemis Shukachu, a major village, the name of which comes from the conifers which are found in the valley. Visit beautiful Gompa. Overnight camp.

2 ½ hrs trek. Cross the village, go over a pass and then there is a steep descent , then go across Mountains side and climb a rather steep slope to the summit of the Meptek -la. Easy half hour descent towards the village of Ang. Overnight camp.

Ang - Khalse - LamayuruAng - Khalse - 4 hrs trek- Lamayuru - by drive . From Ang head towards the south, proceed to the major village of Temisgam, perhaps the richest valley in Ladakh. From Temisgam follow the path leading to Tea. Cross fields to the river then steep climb to the Bongbong -la. Long gently sloping descent into a beautiful barren landscape. From a small pass, steep but short descent to the road. Allow a bit more than a hour to Khalse. Meet our pre arranged transport and drive to Lamayuru. End of trek and our services. OR Drive back to Leh.
