Places We Visit LEH is located in the northernmost parts of the country. It is traveller friendly, enchanting and a hassle free fun town lapped in the snow-covered fringes of the Himalayas. NUBRA VALLEY is a high altitude Cold desert. The Shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachan River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges, and that’s Nubra Valley. The most common route to access Nubra from Leh is to go via the Khardung La. Diskit the capital of Nubra is about 150 km north from Leh town. You can find the famous double hunch Camels here. It’s the worlds highest Salt water lake situated at a height of about 4,350 m. Pangong Tso lies at a distance of almost 160km from LEH and passes through the world’s third highest motorable pass, Chang La. 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. Pangong Tso exhibits mind blowing shades of blue, green and grey at different times of the day. At night, one can see a clear blanket of stars and the milky way with Pangong Tso shining in all it’s glory!
