This beautiful valley is just 13 Kms from Manali and the trek starts from the Old Manali village. The trail goes on a ridge high over the river Beas and by passes a couple of old villages. Solang Valley itself offers some spectacular views of the famous peaks in the Kullu valley. Our destination is the Beas Kund a small glaciated lake and the source of the River Beas.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Manali – Old Manali Village – Solang Valley - Dhundi (2863m): 6 Hours

  Today the trek leads out of Old Manali village high above the River Beas along a well-defined path. We cross the two ancient villages of Shanag and Burua before reaching the beautiful Solang Valley which doubles as a Ski resort in winters. Dhundi is still away around 6 k.m, which is connected through road, walking may take one and half hour. Camp at Dhundi. Excellent views of the surrounding mountain peaks.

• Day 2 : Dhundhi – Bhakarthatch pastures – Beas Kund & Back (3600m): 6 Hours

  Today the trail leads uphill from Dhundi through green meadows and trees of alder, pine and fir to the grazing pastures of Bhakarthatch. After leaving behind the pasture area, we emerged over the Glacier and finally arrive at beautiful Beas (kund) lake. It is source of River Beas & also Get close views of Hanuman Tibba, Friendship and other famous peaks of Manali. Later back to Dhundi.
• Day 3 : Dhundi – Solang valley – Jogini Water-falls – Vashisht – Manali: 6 Hours

  Today, easy walk back to Solang Valley, Burua village, afterwards crossing over the Nehru-Kund Bridge, then little steep climb to Jogini water falls, Continue walk to village vashisht, later by drive back to Manali.
