Marchoi Trek, known as the paradise of anglers, takes to the utmost wilderness with a short trek. The Marchoi Valley has both historical and religious significances holding the ruins of ancient Shiv temple. It has thick pine forests, gushing streams and wild bird species. The valley is a frequent route for Bakerwals (nomads) taking their cattle for the grazing in the upper meadows. The trek is mild and can be done in every season offering different experiences.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Srinagar

A Two-hour Drive from Srinagar to the Naranag Base Camp.
at Naranag, Experience the Life of Highland People and Pay a Visit to the Ancient Temples and a Spring.

Day 2

Srinagar

We start with mild walking though pine forests parallel to the gushing Wangat River to reach Dhumail valley where three tributaries meet to form the Wangat River. We will take rest and enjoy some refreshments there. We further hike up toward the climbing walls and on the way see Bakerwals (Nomads) living in thatched roofed houses.

Day 3

Srinagar

Enjoy the stay in the middle of the wilderness and watch varied wild birds gliding around. The spot is best known for the wild photography. Big peaks like Mount Harmukh could be seen from the camp.

Srinagar

Trek back to the Naranag Base Camp and drive to Srinagar for the night stay.
