Climbing Moon peak is one of the thrilling experience for Climbers and Trekkers. Although Moon peak route was also a shepherds trail detouring from the Indrahar pass to Chamba valley in search of better pastures, had now been opted by adventure seekers as a trekking or climbing route to find acme of the Dharamshala region. This trail leading to the summit offers a challenging trek with quite a steep gradient and curves .The final ascend is over stones and rocks which remains till the top as if the top is also a rocky pinnacle.From the top you can see the plains of Kangra valley and on the other snowcapped mountains surrounds the Himalayan grandeur. Grade: 6.5/10 Max Altitude: 4650 m Approx Trekking Km: 45 Km Temperature in Summers: 20 to 25C day and falls to 5 to 7C at night Temperature in Winters: 10 to 15C day and nearly 0 to -7C at night Best Season: April -June, Sep-Oct

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Delhi To Dharmshala

Welcome on board with Cliff Climber Adventure And tours. Today evening board bus from Mjanu ka tila to Dharmshala overnight journey to Dharmshala

Day 2 Mcleodganj To Triund (9 Km. / 5 Hrs)

Triund

Today morning arrive at Dharmshala . Pickup from volvo busstand and drive to Mcleodgang and start our trek ,The trek goes through mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar tress. First 2 km is a steep ascent but there is a gradual ascent after Galu Devi Temple. The last 1 kilometer is again a steep ascent through the forest which is known as 22 mode (zigzag). Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge. From here panoramic view of Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra valley on other is a memorable sight.

Day 3 Triund To Laqa Got (6 Km / 5 Hrs)

Triund

We start early in the morning from Triund to laqa Got. We pass through Snowline Cafe (1-2 hrs from Triund) and laqa got at another one and half hour. We will keep it as a rest day. After lunch we will for a short hike that means we will gain some height and explore the Dhuladhar range

Day 4 Laqa To Lahesh Cave (base Camp

Today we start after breakfast in the morning to our base camp. It might be one of the easier days. We cut short the duration by two hours for tomorrow and make Lahesh Caves as our base. This can also be used as an additional day in case weather is not favorable

Day 5 Lahesh Cave To Moon Peak Climb And Back To Laqa Camp (12 Km/9hrs)

We start early in the morning by crossing the beautiful Indrahar Pass. After descent we again ascent and climb the Moon Peak. After spending some time up there, we will return to Lahesh Caves Base by afternoon

Day 6 Laqa Got To Mcleodganj(15 Km/7 Hrs) To Delhi Deperature

In the morning, we start from Laqa to McLeodganj. In evening board bus from dharmshala volvo bus stand to delhi overnight journey to Delhi
