Nairobi - Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru - Mount Kenya Trekking safari

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

08.00a.m. Depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, via the view-point of the Great Rift Valley with a stop in Narok town for lunch. A little sista you will proceed for a game drive from 1600 hrs – 1830hrs, tracking various animal species and birds. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 2: Masai Mara

After breakfast proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodile. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast and morning game viewing ,depart the Mara region for Lake Nakuru arriving in evening with lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight budget hotel

Day 4: Lake Nakuru- Nanyuki

After breakfast proceed on a game drive in Lake Nakuru Park, known for its prolific birdlife including flamingoes. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Meet with the guide and proceed to Nanyuki for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Nanyuki - Old Moses Camp
After breakfast Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hr, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill though the forest which becomes heath land after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Judmier Camp, 3300m for dinner and overnight, L, D

Day 6: Old Moses - Shipton Camp
After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, 4200m, B,L,D

Day 7: Shiptons- Point Lenana - Mount Meru Bandas (Chogoria Gate)
Leave at 3am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving point Lenana at 6:30am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend down to Mintos hut, 2hrs, for breakfast and further hrs down to Mount Meru Bandas, 2950m, for dinner and overnight, B, L, D

Day 8: Chogoria Bandas/Chogoria/Nairobi
Descend 2hr, 15km to forest clearance to catch a 4x4 transfer vehicle to Chogoria Village where you will connect with your transfer vehicle back to Nairobi, B,L.
