Pindari Glacier Trek

Drive to quaint hamlet called Loharkhet from Kathgodam after breakfast. Visit the old Bagnath Temple at the confluence of Gomti and Saryu river and explore the town of Bageshwar. Drive towards Loharkhet after lunch. Drive across the picturesque trek and narrow passes. Stay overnight at rest house.

Above sea level, Loharkhet is situated at an elevation of 1,760 mts. The gateway to Pindari is Dhakuri. First step of your trek is start to Kafni and Pindari Glacier. From Dhakuri Khal snow capped peaks of southern wall view of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary is visible. Before ascending to the small Temple at Taladhakri the trail winds come across an evergreen forest of horse and oak chest nut from Lokaharkhet. Stay overnight in tents.

The biggest village that you will pass through on the trek to Pindari Glacier is Khati. Today, start with a walk crossing rhododendron forests and enjoy the exotic views of fauna and flora after breakfast. Khati village is the last village en route Kafni and Pindari Glacier, above sea level it is situated at an elevation of 2,210 mts. During their exile it is believed that this village served as the home to the Pandavas. Stay overnight in tents.

Today, you will take a simple trek to Dwali from Khati. The trek to Dwali is full of natural and scenic beauty from Khati village. Stay overnight in tents.

The trek to Phurkia is graded and steep at moderate level from Dwali. En route Pindari Glacier the place is Phurkiya. Before Phurkia, there is a pretty waterfall. Above sea level, it is situated at an elevation of 3,250 mts.

Trek to Pindari Glacier is visually captivating as it offers spectacular view of the mighty Himalayan range from Phurkia. Zero point is the name of Pindari Glacier and above sea level at an elevation of 3,660 mts. Here, after spending some hours and to Dwali begin your descent. Stay overnight in camp.

Back to Dwali trek. From Dhakuri retrace your journey to Dwali as you descend. Stay overnight in camp.
