Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Drive from Kathgodam/Haldwani to Loharkhet (approx. 8 hours).

  This is a long but rewarding drive that introduces you to the Kumaon region, winding through valleys and small towns like Almora and Bageshwar. Upon reaching Loharkhet, check into the guesthouse, which will be the first base, and enjoy the serenity of this beautiful starting point, preparing for the trek tomorrow.

• Day 2 : Trek from Loharkhet to Dhakuri (approx. 11 km, 5-6 hours).

  The trail begins with a steep climb to the Dhakuri Pass, followed by a gentle descent to the beautiful Dhakuri campsite, nestled on a flat meadow with stunning views. This day offers fantastic vistas of the Trishul and Nanda Kot peaks, which dominate the horizon, setting the scene for the rest of the journey.

• Day 3 : Trek from Dhakuri to Khati (approx. 8 km, 4 hours).

  Today is an easy walk, mostly downhill and flat, following the Pindar River. Khati is the largest and last village on the Pindari trail, offering a valuable opportunity for cultural interaction with the local Kumaoni people and the chance to resupply on basic necessities. Stay overnight in a local guesthouse or camp near the river.

• Day 4 : Trek from Khati to Dwali (approx. 12 km, 5-6 hours).

  The trail follows the Pindar River, ascending gradually through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, crossing several small streams. Dwali is a meeting point of two river valleys and offers a spectacular panoramic view of the mountains, which are now significantly closer, increasing the excitement for the days ahead.

• Day 5 : Trek from Dwali to Phurkiya (approx. 5 km, 3 hours).

  A relatively short day dedicated to gaining altitude slowly to aid acclimatization. The landscape dramatically changes from forest to open meadow, and the views of the Pindari Glacier snout become visible in the distance. Phurkiya is a high-altitude meadow campsite, providing a stunning base for the final push.

  • Themes Trekking
• Day 6 : Trek from Phurkiya to Zero Point (Pindari Glacier Viewpoint) and back to Dwali (approx. 17 km, 8-9 hours).

  Start early for the challenging walk to the Pindari Zero Point (3660m), offering the closest views of the massive glacier and the surrounding peaks. After spending time at the breathtaking viewpoint, descend back through the meadows all the way to Dwali for the overnight stay.

  • Themes Trekking
• Day 7 : Trek from Dwali to Khati and continue to Loharkhet (approx. 20 km, 8-9 hours).

  This is the longest day of descent, retracing the path through the valleys and villages you passed earlier. The easy downhill walk allows time to reflect on the majestic views of the glacier. From Loharkhet, begin the drive to Kathgodam/Haldwani for departure, concluding the memorable Kumaon trek.
