A train is the best mode of transport for this leg. There are mainly three trains (Shatabdi Express, Uttar Sampark Kranti Express and Ranikhet Express) available between Delhi and Haldwani. I always recommend Ranikhet Express as it starts from Delhi in the night at 10:30 PM and reaches Haldwani in the morning at 04:30 AM. Reaching Haldwani in the early morning is a good idea for onward journey. Kathgodam is the last rail-head on this section and 10 kms away from Haldwani. It is better to leave the train at Haldwani, rather than Kathgodam, because Haldwani is a bigger city and transports for onward journey can be arranged here in a better manner
Depart from Katgodam - road goes many interesting tourist places like Kousani ,Sameswar.Haldwani ,Gwaldam and many mountain interesting villages and rivers can seen during the traveling and arrives to Lohajund interesting place on the ridge beautiful view of Nanadaghunti peak from the hotel.

Camp at Didna, Camp on the meadows surrounded by forest with view of Lohajung valley and Didna village can be visit in the evening.
Uphill 9 k trek through forests of oak, rhododendrons (bloom end April - beginning May), pine, and stately deodar trees and seasonal huts for villagers where they spend their summers with their cattle. The trek continuous to Alibugyal beautiful camp side on the ridge with spectacular views of some famous Himalayan peaks Chaukhamba, Srikanth and Gangotri massif.
Uphill 5 k then 3k moderate uphill trek goes through the famous Alibugyal with spectacular views of Bedni and Pider valleys. Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay their obeisance, during their halt at Bedni Bugyal camp.
