Round Annapurna Trek is known as fully round and the best Trek in the world. Experiencing the Himalayas this trek gives you the opportunity to enjoy and view the large villages of Gurung, Magar, Thakali and Tamangs. In general, the Round Annapurna Trek or Annapurna Circuit Trek takes about 2 weeeks start to finish depending on your pace and the time you want to spend on each place on the way. The advice is- do it easy and slowly as it will be beneficial for your health (acclimatization to heights should be done gradually). Also, the places are so beautiful, so take your time to enjoy every moment.

Firstly, the Trek takes you up to the Marsyangdi River, and then you will cross the fantastic “Thorung-La” pass (5416m) and complete the route while descending through Kali-Gandaki River. During the Trek, you surround the Annapurna ridge, which includes the highest peaks; among them, some are over 8000m. You will be following different valleys and canyons and also walk beside rushing streams, which pound over white granite rocks and through deep pools. The exploration of lush fields and forests to the mountains into the desert-dry Trans will be one of the different experiences you will ever receive.

Moreover, the most Trekked area of Nepal, i.e., Annapurna region has a great variety of landscapes, natural and cultural beauty of central Himalaya. It is the most challenging and beautiful Trek that encircles the Annapurna range, and collection of huge ever snow-capped ranges. Similarly, the view of world’s highest mountains glowing in the pastel light of dawn and dusk will take your breath away for a moment. You will get the chance to view the panoramic scenes of Mt. Best Travel Time for this Trek is February – May, September – November. This Trekking area has good Trekkers lodge (Teahouse) facilities managed by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and eco-aware local people.

Best Travel Time: February – May, September – November are the best seasons. However, Dec and January are winter and can be snow on the trail, June, July & August rainy season, trekking can be done but the views may not that great due to poor visibility on a rainy day.

Trip Snippets: 17 days, 4 night’s hotels, 12 nights Lodges, Breakfast in the city, 3 meals a day (breakfast,lunch and dinner during the trek).

Departure Dates: We are able to offer this trek on any dates during the months Feb, March, April, May, June, Sept, Oct, November and December for a group of 1 to 12 people.

Equipment rental: We advise you to bring all of your clothing and gear from home, however in Kathmandu there are many shops to buy and rent trek related equipment

Your trek Backpack/duffle bag: Your baggage on the trek will be carried by our porters, the maximum weight per trekkers is 15kg including your sleeping bag and down jacket, Other items not required on trek can be stored in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Greetings at Kathmandu Airport

    We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have a meeting with your trekking guide and discuss the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have the same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.

  • Day 2 : A Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu, the Capital Valley

    The very next morning, after breakfast you will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit the center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath might make you feel calm and peace and visit Patan the city of fine arts and Durbar Square is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. On a journey back to the hotel, you can explore the local areas, gullies, and lifestyle. After your dinner, you can perhaps take the leisurely stroll through the famous streets like Thamel and Durbar Marg.

  • Day 3 : Drive Kathmandu to Syange/jagat (1330m) 8 Hrs Drive

    Take vehicle or tourist bus to Besi Sahar through Prithvi Highway, about 6 hours drive. Reach Besi Sahar or Bhulbule at Lunch time. Take a local jeep to Syange (1080m) driving with the view of River, greeneries, local villages and beautiful mountain scenery. A steep and slippery trail runs up and down through paddy fields, passing through tiny Tibetan villages, the trail ascends through the rhododendron forest to Jagat (1330m). If our drive is late, we can stay in Syange as well.

  • Day 4 : Syange/jagat Trek to Dharapani (1960m) Walkign Distance 6-7 Hrs.

    You continue zigzag way across the right side Marsyangdi river view and after crossing again suspension bridge in the Marsyangdi River the trail goes uphill and gradually steep flat and get to Tal. Tal is one of the famous places for valley views and water falls. We enter Manang district, trail continues through barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests past the village of Khotro (1860m). Descend to a forest to a long suspension bridge and very pleasant courtyards of Alpine. Passing through Karte and Nache village, the new trail continues a stone Kani making a formal entrance to Dharapani. Dharapani is one junction way for Manaslu round and also big villages in the Manang valley.

  • Day 5 : Dharapani to Chame (2710m) : Walking Distance - 13 Km

    The trail stays on the south bank of the river, climbing through forests to Danaque (2210m), the valley surrounded by apple orchards. Climb steeply crisscrossing section of the road through rhododendron forest. The trail climbs along the mule track through in and fir forest and then follows the river for a time amongst the higher oak and maple trees. At the entrance to Chame is a long wall with many prayer wheels; the administrative headquarter of the Manang district. There are fine views of Lamjung, Annapurna II/IV (7525m).

  • Day 6 : Chame to Pisang (3210m) Walking Distance 4-5 Hours, 600 Meters Ascent

    There are a long, peasant and mostly level walk in forests. The pine-scented trail rounds a bend to reveal the first views of dramatic Paungda Danda rock face, a tremendous curve slab of rock. The trail follows through the river valley with good views along the way of Pisang peak and Annapurna II at Pisang. Pisang marks the beginning of the region upper portion of the Manang district.

  • Day 7 : Pisang to Manang : Walking Distance 6-7 Hours, 540 Meters Ascent and 310 Meters Descent - 20 Km

    It’s about 6-7 hours trail. From upper Pisang, the high trail enters pine grooves to reveal views of the small turquoise lake. The trail does a dogleg through the charming village, passing with views of painted Mandalas and dragon mouth spouts. Hiking through the fields of grazing yak and the wide variety of crops. This large Tibetan settlement provides good views of Annapurna II/III/IV, Gangapurna and Tarkekang. Stay at 3570m.

  • Day 8 : Acclimatization Day At Mannag

    This day you spend the second night in the Manang region to acclimatize to the higher elevations you will encounter towards the Thoroung La. Take advice from Himalayan Rescue Association and observe the spectacular views of the Himalaya nearby. There are fine views of the milky blue glacier lake at the foot of spectacular Gangapurna icefall and traditional stone buildings.

  • Day 9 : Manang to Chure Letdar (4250m) : Walking Distance 3-5 Hours, 720 Meters Ascent - 10 Km

    The trail continues to climb out of the Marsyangdi Valley. The trail follows this valley north, passing a Goths as it steadily gains elevation. You have left the large trees below; the vegetation now consists of scrub juniper and alpine grasses. It’s fun to see large yaks grazing. The view of Annapurna III is excellent.

  • Day 10 : Churi Letdar to Thorung Phedi (4400m) : Walking Distance 2 Hours, 240 Meters Ascent- 5 Km

    From Letdar the trail climbs along the east bank of the Jarsang Khola, then descends and crosses the stream on a wooden bridge at 4310m. Blue sheep, and even snow capped leopards, sometimes magically appears. The crow like bird choughs, large lamer geiers and Himalayan griffons circles you overhead. Overnight at Phedi 4400m.

  • Day 11 : Thorung Phedi Trek to Muktinath (3800m) : Walking Distance 6-8 Hours, 1040 Meters Ascent and 1620 Me

    The trail becomes steep immediately after leaving Thorung Phedi, switch backing up moraines and following rocky ridges as it ascends to the Thorung La pass (5416m). You can see the long Great Barrier ridge, Tibet like region of Manang, as well as the Annapurnas, Gangapurna and the heavily glaciated peak of Khatung Kang (6484m). The trail descends crossing meadows steeply down to Muktinath. One of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists.

  • Day 12 : Muktinath Drive to Tatopani

    After enjoying the temple and the religious shrines of Muktinath, We will drive to Tatopani the drive follows the Kaligandaki river, world deepest george and have a very nice view one of the longest waterfall. Stay at Tatopani and visit natural hot spring.

  • Day 13 : Tatopani to Ghorepani (2775m) : Walking Distance 6-7 Hours, 1750 Meters Ascent and 140 Meters Descen

    Trail ascends steeply through dense moss-covered rhododendron forest with rich bird life. We pass some small villages and walk alongside the Ghaja Khola. Its about 7-8 hours work all the way up to Ghorepani.

  • Day 14 : Ghorepani to Hile (1495m) : Walking Distance - 9 Km

    Early morning trek up to Poonhil, One of the best Himalayan view points in Nepal poonhill provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas . From poonhill one can enjoy spectacular view of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Peak Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m), Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Mt Fishtail ( Macchapuchre 6997m), Tent Peak and many more High Himalayas. Trek down to Ghorepani and after breakfast start downhill trekking to Hile.

  • Day 15 : Hile to Pokhara : Walking Distance - 7 Km

    Trek to Birethanti via Nayapul walk through the lust, green Modi river valley. Past waterfalls with plunge pools that invite you to swim. Explore the various interesting places like Mahendra Cave, David’s fall and the various lakes of Pokhara. Stay at Pokhara hotel.

  • Day 16 : Pokhara to Kathmandu, Take a 25 Minutes Flight or 6/7 Hour Drive.

    Take a flight or drive by tourist bus/Private car to Kathmandu. At the evening you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show, taking some beautiful snaps and making up your mind for the returning journey. You can have a greetings exchanging among friends and with all Nepalese people.

  • Day 17 : Final Departure

    We will take you to the International Airport for your convenience. Wish you a happy journey in the traditional and cultural way of us Nepalese and Good-Bye with a hope to see you again.
