From Nairobi to Maasai Mara two nights then back to Nairobi

Maasai Mara National Reserve. Covering an area of approximately 1,792 square kilometers, with another approximately 500 square kilometers protected conservancies
around the national reserve, it is elevated at approximately 1,850 meters. The reserve was established in 1961 by the colonial government and is about 280 kilometers from the capital city to the main gate (Sekenani gate). It principally covers bushy savannas, marked with gentle hills and streams and rivers that pour water into Lake Victoria. The crocodile infested Mara River that cuts across the plains of the Maasai Mara and pours its water into Lake Victoria within the Tanzania side is very beautiful and is famous for the annual wildebeest migration between June and October. Maasai Mara shares the same plains with the Serengeti National Reserve of Tanzania save for the difference in the naming for political/administrative borders. It is considered a reserve since within its borders is inhabited by the famous and numerous Maasai tribe/community. Maasai Mara is also inhabited by numerous fauna that elevates its beauty and uniqueness such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, foxes, jackals, hyenas, pythons, buffaloes, elephants, corks hartebeest, Maasai giraffes, impalas, gazelles etc.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : From Nairobi to Maasai Mara

  Leave Nairobi at 6.30am for approximately 270kms to Masai Mara National Reserve with a panoramic view of the Great Rift Valley enroute, arriving to the hotel in the Maasai Mara for lunch. Afternoon game drive from 4.00pm to 6.30pm then return to hotel for dinner.

• Day 2 : Maasai Mara National Reserve

  Experience the great migration and iconic savanna landscapes with full-day game drives.
  Leave the hotel after breakfast at 7.30am for a FULL-DAY game drive within the expansive Masai Mara reserve. You will have picnic lunch in the savanna and arrive back to the hotel in the evening for dinner. You can also organize with your guide if you would like to visit the Masai village on that day.

• Day 3 : Maasai Mara to Nairobi

  Leave for Nairobi from Maasai Mara after breakfast to be dropped off at the point of preference, whether at the hotel or airport.
