How to reach Pujan Base Camp:
All the participants will have to reach Manali Bus Stand by own arrangement, then company representative will escort you to the Pujan Base Camp. Pickup can also be done from Patlikuhl the nearest NH 21 Stop to Pujan Base Camp, which needs to be communicated earlier.
Where is Pujan village situated:
Pujan is one of the smallest village in Kullu Valley consisting of about 150 people. This is a calm village and your first day will be free from noise pollution and to relax from the tiring overnight journey from Delhi, so that you can start fresh and energised for trek from second day.
What we do at Base Camp
On arrival at base camp, you will welcomed to base camp and offered welcome drink. You will be given time to freshen up. After breakfast there will be brief introduction. Then we will allot tour ruck sack, wind proof coat / jackets etc. Lunch will be served only at base camp while packed lunch will available during treks. After lunch we will go for acclimatization walk. After snacks there will be briefing on mountaineering in simple way.
Morning exercise at base camp and followed by breakfast. We start trek from Pujan to Khoru Pandhe with packed lunch and refreshments (ditto, chocolate, candy).
What is Khoru Pandhe -
It is behind the village of Shegli. Khoru Pandhe is a one kind of plain ground and there is one source of cold spring water at the corner of ground, which you can see during camping and the surrounding area is full of dense spruce trees. This one is gorgeous place where we can enjoy cricket
When we start trek from Pujan, we will get first village Ligan, second village Shara and third village Piyara. Pujam is connected by link road from NH 21 at Patlikuhl which heads towards Riyara and then to Shangchar. In the Ligan village we will see the temple of Devta Narayan and then we move to Shora, the surrounding is filled with oak trees, popular trees, pine trees and mostly apple trees.
After reaching the Shora Village, we will see Durga Bhagvati temple, which is situated on big rock. Then we move head to Piyora road ahead. From Piyora we start walk to Khoru Pandhe. Now from Riyara we wil get spruce trees surrounding half on the way till we get to holy lake of Devta Nag which is a artificial lake. Approx around 2km from the lake there is a place called Niyanpu.
Importance of this trek
Everyone who comes here get confused about their starting point and ending point. It is just 150mts trek which creates confusion. It is believed that King of Kullu used to keep gaurds to watch the Palace at this place.
After reaching the Khoru Pandhe we will go for rappelling. After the snacks briefing will be presented on mountain hazards. Dinner and followed by camp fire. Hot drinks will be served during camp fire
Morning exercises and followed by breakfast. We start trek from Khoru Pande to Hora Thach with packed lunch and refreshments (ditto, chocolate, candy). Trek starts from the road and leads through dense forest. The forest consists of spruce trees, pine trees etc, you will also see fallen trees, boulder, stream etc. You will experience crossing streams.
What is Hora Thach?
After reaching the Hora Thach we will do one adventure activity either river crossing or valley crossing. After snacks, there will be briefing about camping and camp hygiene. Dinner and followed by camp fire
Morning exercises and followed by breakfast. We start trek from Hora Thach to Maylee Thach with packed lunch and refreshments (ditto, chocolate, candy). Today it will be total steep surface. During the trek we will find the varieties of trees, from Silver Fir, Golden Oak, Pines etc. But after finishing the tree line, juniper bushes will continue.
What is interesting during the trek?
When we start trek from Hora Thach then we get such kind of mountain if you see it and if you have wear cap loose then cap will surely going to fall down 100%. The name this mountain is Man Manhori. There is a river following in base of the mountain. We will go to the base of mountain if the flow of the river decreases. And after that we will reach a cave in which maximum of 20 peoples can sit at one time. After reaching the Maylee Thach, little briefing will be given about surroundings. Dinner and followed by camp fire. Hot drinks will be served during camp fire.
What is Maylee Thach?
Buffalos were kept on this place. This place is popular for shepherds for keeping buffalos that why it is called Maylee Thach.
Morning exercises and followed by breakfast. We start trek from Maylee Thach to Doura Nala with packed lunch and refreshments (ditto, chocolate, candy). We will not find any kind of tree except the birch trees. During the trek we will face Pandav Pathar, which is totally boulder area. And we will find shepherds with their herd consisting of cows, buffalos, horses etc.
What is Pandav Pathar?
In ancient time when Pandav were send to banvas. They went through Saurkundi lake. They found many types of herbs around the lake, so they decided to stay here for some time. During that time Pandav made a stone machine which worked by wind. They used the wind from Rohtang Dhar to run that machine. They took religious bath in Saurkundi lake before moving ahead.
During this trek we will face many storms, hard snow and hard snow glaciers on streams. We will have to walk on heavy snow. After reaching the Daura Nala L.D.P. (Lecture, Demonstration, Practice) of Glisiding , Ascending, Decending on snow and front fall, back fall etc. on snow.
What is Daura Nala?
The place where two streams of mountain merges is called Daura Nala.
