Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Depart USA to Scotland

  Depart USA for your overnight flight to Europe. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

• Day 2 : Arrive Edinburgh

  Welcome to Scotland! Upon our arrival, we will collect our luggage and meet with our guide and driver. We will be escorted to Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St Mary's, of the Archdiocese of St. Andrew's and Edinburgh. The site of this holy Church was chosen by Bishop Hay, Vicar Apostolic for the Lowland District. After seeing his previous Chapel in Blackfriar's Wynd burned by a mob, he hoped that this new site would provide safety for the Church due to the surrounding buildings. The Church was further embellished and became the pro-cathedral of the Archdiocese in 1878, during the restoration of the Scottish hierarchy, and Roman Catholicism in Scotland. After Mass, we will proceed to lunch on our own, followed by a city tour. We will begin with a visit to Edinburgh Castle. This castle holds much historical significance as its purpose has transformed from a battle ground, to a home, to an army headquarters, and finally a tourist attraction. We will see the numerous, fascinating sites of the castle such as, the Great Hall, David's Tower, the Scottish National War Museum, the Queen Anne Building, and many more. You will be able to witness the oldest standing building in Edinburgh, St. Margaret's Chapel, which withstood numerous destruction attempts. This structure dates back to the 12th century during the reign of King David I, who dedicated this Chapel to his mother, Saint Margaret of Scotland also known as, Queen Margaret. The tour will continue to the UNESCO Palace of Holyrood House at the end of the Royal Mile. The Palace of Holyrood House is the Queen's official residence in Scotland, as well as many other successive kings and queens of the monarchy of Scotland. After the fun-filled, busy day we will check into our hotel for dinner & overnight.

• Day 3 : Edinburgh - St. Andrews - Perth - Glasgow

  Following a full breakfast at the hotel, we will continue to explore the countryside on the way to the town of St. Andrews in Fife, named after the apostle Andrew; patron Saint of Scotland. As the remains of St Andrew were commonly believed to be buried here, the site became a major Shrine for Christians up until the Norman Cathedral. This Cathedral is the largest in all of Scotland, and was “cleansed” by Calvinist zealots during the Scottish Reformation and the ruins still remain. The ‘X’ shape, in which St. Andrew was crucified, is a symbol present on the Scottish national flag to remind the country of his martyrdom. St Andrews is also known worldwide as the “home of golf”, as the modern sport is believed to have been invented here in the 15th Century. The “Old Course”, devised in 1754, is still in operation. We will celebrate Mass at the church of St. James, a small Roman Catholic parish situated on a clifftop which overlooks the North Sea. Following, we will continue our Journey with a visit to the town of Perth , including Scone Palace, one of the finest examples of Georgian Gothic architecture in the UK. We will proceed to Glasgow for dinner & overnight.

• Day 4 : Glasgow - Carfin Motherwell

  This morning, after breakfast we will depart for a visit to the historic small mining village of Carfin. At Carfin Motherwell, we will see a sight built using the template of the Grotto at Massabielle; Our Lady of Lourdes. This site, built by unemployed miners of the village, has been used a place of procession and prayer since the early part of the 20th century. Before returning to Glasgow for lunch, we will enjoy a visit to the community of Carfin; a town if significant importance in the life of Scottish Catholicism. Upon our return to Glasgow, we will do a walking tour of the city before dinner & overnight.

• Day 5 : Glasgow Airport - USA

  Following breakfast, we will board our bus that will bring us to Glasgow Airport for our return flights home. We will bid farewell to our new friends and to a Pilgrimage which will be in our memories and hearts for a long time to come.

Deposit, Payment Schedule & Registration

• A $400 per person deposit is required at the time of booking with a completed reservation application. Fax, internet, e-mail, or phone reservations are welcome. Deposit and/or payment in full must be received within 7 days of booking or reservation will cancel. Full payment is due 60 days prior to the departure date. If a booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. If you register for a pilgrimage within 30 days before departure, or, a deposit is received less than 30 days before departure, a $50 late fee will be included in your total cost. Packages (containing Travel Documents) being shipped outside of the USA will incur an additional shipping charge of $50 per package.

Form of Payment

• Bank/Certified/Checks, Money Orders, ACH (check by phone) or Wire Transfers (please fax a copy of bank confirmation when wiring funds) are accepted forms of payment at any time. Personal checks are acceptable if received more than 30 days prior to departure date. 206 Tours accepts PayPal payments (send to: info@206tours.com). You may also make Direct Credit Card Payments to 206 Tours (American Express, Discover, Visa and Master Card). In order to speed the processing of deposits and final payments, please note the departure date on deposit and balance of payment checks. Every reservation must be accompanied by a signed application. Returned checks will incur a $50 service fee. In case of computer or human billing error, we reserve the right to re-invoice participants with corrected billing.

Price Guarantee

• Rates shown on website are based on double or twin occupancy and are as per each programs inclusions. All prices are shown in U.S. Dollars and are calculated on currency rates and fares in existence on 05/23/2018. 206 Tours reserves the right to alter prices at any time prior to departure and without prior notice if circumstances so warrant. Any devaluation or revaluation of currencies may effect published price.

Not Included

• Tips to guide and driver. Insurance and Supplemental Cancellation Protection. Items of a personal nature, such as passport and visa fees, telephone calls, mini bar, laundry and lunches (when not mentioned).

Passports, Visas & Documents

• A valid US passport is required for US citizens. If you do not have a valid passport please contact your closest passport office or see Passport Information. Passports must be valid at least 6 months after return date. US or Canadian citizens do not need to obtain visas for most countries 206 Tours services. For all other nationalities please consult the country of 's consulate. When and if visa is required it is passengers responsibility to obtain one. 206 Tours, owner, agent or employees cannot be held liable for clients not having proper passports, visa or other travel documents. Cancellations due to lack of appropriate documents will incur usual penalties. A Passport Card is not useful for International Air Travel. Attempting to use this instead of a Passport Book will result in a denial of boarding by the airlines and entry by the legal authorities

Final Documents

• Final documents are issued upon receipt of final payment only and within 3 weeks of departure. Documents are not guaranteed if final payment is not received on time. Upon receipt of your documents you are responsible to check your itinerary, spelling of your name, dates, times and other important information to insure their validity. Should your final documents have any errors it is the passengers responsibility to contact 206 Tours immediately.

Participation

• 206 Tours and suppliers contracted for services reserve the right to refuse to accept or retain any person whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operations of a tour, or adversely affect the enjoyment or safety of other passengers. 206 Tours, its agents, and suppliers shall be under no liability to any such person for refund, compensation, repatriation or any other matters arising.

Cancellations and Refunds

• Once a deposit or partial/full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received. In addition to a $300 per person administration fee, the following charges apply off the total trip cost:


• 60 - 46 days prior to departure 10%.


• 45 - 21 days prior to departure 50%.


• 20 - 03 days prior to departure 80%.


• 02 days prior to departure or less no refund.


• Additionally, once tickets are issued the ticket value is non-refundable. Requests for a refund must be in writing (mail, fax or e-mail). Phone calls cannot be used as a form of cancellation. Refunds will be issued within 30 to 60 days of receipt of written notice No change of names or substitutions are permitted. No refund or cancellation fees will be waived due to death or sickness.


• *Special departures may have different conditions; please carefully review the terms & conditions for each departure.


• In the event that 206 Tours would decide to cancel a departure, a full refund will be issued (including travel insurance and Supplemental Cancellation Protection). If, however the trip is cancelled closer to departure by forces outside of the control of 206 Tours, refunds will be as per terms and conditions.
