Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport late evening. Private transfer to Arusha Planet Lodge with an approximate transfer time of 1 hour for the 50 km journey. Given the late arrival there are no planned activities and the evening is for rest. Overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge in a standard room.

Depart Arusha after breakfast for a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park, noted for large elephant herds and baobab studded landscapes. Transfer time is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours for the 120 km route. Arrive at Conserve Safari Camp in Tarangire in time to settle before dark. Guided game drives explore baobab areas searching for lions, elephants, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest and other wildlife. Optional night game drive available for nocturnal wildlife viewing.

Transfer by road from Tarangire via the Ngorongoro highlands and Naabi Hill Gate into Central Serengeti (Seronera). The drive is approximately 290 km and takes about 5.5 to 6 hours including stops. Expect game viewing en route where landscape allows. Overnight at Jackals Lair Camp in Central Serengeti. The day includes guided game drive experiences in open air with hopes of sightings of classic Serengeti wildlife.

Depart Central Serengeti after a morning game drive and continue north toward Kogatende in the Northern Serengeti, tracking the position of the migration as herds move toward the Mara River. The road distance is approximately 120 km with travel time about 3.5 to 4 hours with game viewing stops. The camp in Kogatende serves as the base for migration focused activities and wildlife viewing. Overnight at Baobab Migration Luxury Camp.

Full day in Northern Serengeti based out of the Baobab Migration Luxury Camp. This day is dedicated to following migration activity and spending flexible time at Mara River crossing points where timing is dictated by wildlife movement. Expect extensive guided game drives, migration viewing and classic Serengeti wildlife encounters. Overnight at the same camp no move.

Travel toward Ngorongoro Crater and stay at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge on the crater rim. The day includes game activities at Ngorongoro with exceptional crater views and wildlife. The crater is noted for black rhino sightings, large tusked elephants, lion prides and hyena clans. Expect a full day of safari activity at the lodge and crater rim surroundings.

Early morning options include a walking safari on the Ngorongoro Crater rim or Empakaai Crater walking safari with an experienced guide, followed by a descent onto the crater floor for a crater floor game drive in Big Five territory. After lunch drive back to Arusha with an approximate transfer of 180 km taking about 3.5 to 4 hours. Overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge with luggage storage available for day room or late departure.

Morning city exploration in Arusha with an expert guide including time to see local sights. Breakfast and lunch provided. Departure day with transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for scheduled flight home. Trip concludes with airport transfer included.
