The Classic Paro - Thimphu Highlights Tour

Morning: Arrive at Paro International Airport (PBH). The flight into Paro is a spectacle in itself, offering incredible views of the Himalayan peaks. After completing your immigration and permit formalities, you will be greeted by your guide.

Late Morning: Drive to Thimphu (approximately 1.5 hours), the capital city of Bhutan.

Afternoon:

Buddha Dordenma: Your first stop is the massive Buddha statue on a hilltop overlooking the Thimphu Valley. The statue is a powerful symbol and offers panoramic views of the entire city.

National Memorial Chorten: Visit this stupa built in memory of the third king of Bhutan. It's a place where locals often gather to pray and circumambulate.

Tashichho Dzong: This fortress is the seat of the government and the King's office. You can admire its impressive architecture and learn about its significance.

Evening: Enjoy a walk through Thimphu town. You can explore the local markets and find unique Bhutanese handicrafts. Dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Morning: Early start! Drive from Thimphu back to Paro. This day is dedicated to the hike to Paro Taktsang, or the Tiger's Nest Monastery.

The hike is the highlight of most Bhutan trips. It takes approximately 4-5 hours for a round trip.

The monastery is perched dramatically on a cliff, and the views along the way and from the site are breathtaking.

Afternoon: After the hike and lunch at a local restaurant, you will have a brief cultural visit.

Kyichu Lhakhang: Visit one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.

Late Afternoon: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure.
