Welcome to visit the Himalaya's one of least known regions. Witness colorful and unique mask dances to enact victory of dharma and glory of Guru Padmasambhava - the Lotus-born. Born in the 8th century, Guru Padmasambhava contributed immensely to the diffusion of Tantric Buddhism in the Himalayan region.

The dances impart morality, gain merits and acts as an important social occasion for all people to come together. Both monks and laymen take active part in dances.

The 3-day Thimphu Tshechu festival is the grandest celebrations held Fall. Thimphu Tshechu is considered a major attraction and people travel from neighbouring districts to participate in the festivity.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Thimphu Tshechu Festival

  Arrive in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu to check into hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.

• Day 2 : Attend to Thimphu Tshechu Festival

  Variety show of folk and mask dances performed throughout the day

• Day 3 : Continuation with Festival

• Day 4 : Drive to P{unakha

  Sightseeing in Punakha include a visit to Punakha dzong and the Nunnery Institute in Woolakha. Enroute drop at Dochola pass to enjoy an amazing view of 108 stupas at the backdrop of beautiful peaks.

  • Meals & Drinks Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner plus two refreshments of tea/coffee with snacks
• Day 5 : Return to Paro for sightseeing

  Sightseeing on the return journey include a visit to the national museum, Kitchu monastery and Drukgyel. A special night at a farmhouse for dinner treat.

• Day 6 : An excursion to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest monastery)
