Tribal Tour of Orissa and Chhattisgarh

(Wednesday) Depart Your Country.

Arrive Kolkata. Met upon arrival and transfer to the hotel for overnight. Rooms are booked for immediate occupancy. Morning full day sightseeing of the city. Visit Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial, St. Paul's Cathedral and Botanical garden.

After early breakfast transfer to the airport to board the flight to Bhubaneswar.

On arrival, visit the tribal museum. Later check in & later explore the city of temples.

Bhubaneswar is Famous as Temple City where still now more than 700 ancients Temples. The most important Temples of Bhubaneswar are Parasurameswar Temple of 7th Cenutry AD, Mukteswar Temple (10th cen. A D ), Rajarani Temple (11th Century A D)and Lingaraj Temple (Later part of 11th Cen A D - Non Hindus are not allowed to enter inside the Premises of Lingaraj Temple).

After breakfast drive to Puri, en - route visiting Ashokan Rock Edicts, Chousath Yogini Tantrik temple and Pipili - patch work village & Konark, the famous sun temple. In the evening visit the Jagannath Temple (from outside as non Hindus are not allowed to enter).

After breakfast drive to Raghurajpur painting village. Later drive to Chilika Lake(boatride 03 hrs)to see migratory birds.

After breakfast drive to Rayagada enroute visit Behrampur silk weaving street and Taptapani hot sulpheric spring water. Also visit Saura tribal villages and interact with the tribal life in their hamlet.

Weekly Market commence only on Tuesday.

After breakfast visit the weekly tribal market of Desia Kond tribe. On the way back, visit traditional craftsman village of untouchables making brass works. After lunch visit the Desia Kond tribal villages.

Weekly Market commence only on Wednesday.

Early morning drive to Chhatikona, the weekly colourful Dongaria kondh market. Dongarias are one of the two main primitive tribes that we will see on our our tour. Dongarias come down with their forest product to sell/ barter with non tribals and it is an interesting event to watch.

Return to hotel for lunch and then drive to Jeypore enroute visiting an artist village making wooden basket work.

Weekly Market commence only on Thursday.

Early morning drive to Onkudelli the most interesting market of Bondas/ Gadabas/Didayees. Later visit Gadaba tribal villages.

Drive to Kangarapada where we see a cultural dance known as Dhemsa in their village.

Weekly Market commence only on Friday.

After breakfast drive to Kunduli where the guest can witness the largest tribal market by Paroja people and later explore the sanaporoja villages and drive down to Jagdalpur enroute have the Lunch at the hotel and check out with luggages. Enroute visit the Kotpad weaving villages and also witnes the Terrakota village and weekly BHATRA tribal market.

After breakfast drive to Kanker. Visit Nayennar village to see the Bison Horn dance of Maria tribes. Packed lunch at Silk processing plant. Later visit Kondagaon to see lost wax technique of brass idol making.

After breakfast drive to Muria villages to see the local tribes as well as to see the Gotul dance of the local tribes. This dance is performed by bachelors who live together for many days to find a match for themselves.

Afternoon drive to Narayanpur to visit Sunday Market famous for its cock fights. Later proceed to Kanker.

After breakfast drive to Bhoramdeo. On arrival, check in at the retreat.

Afternoon visit of the local Baiga tribal villages.

Morning sightseeing of Bhoramdeo temple. Later visit this fascinating area including visits to the various villages of Bhaiga tribes who will perform a traditional dance for us.

After breakfast drive to Raipur to connect with flight to Delhi.

Met upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.

On time you will be transferred to the International airport to board the flight for onward destination.
