Triund is an easy trek in Himachal Pradesh that offers you an escape into the majestic Himalayas. Situated a few kilometres from Dharamshala at an altitude of 2828 m, it is a place perfect for
trekking with amazing trails offering scenic views of the entire Kangra Valley. A trek to Triund is short and simple. It can be done from either McLeodganj or Dharamkot, which is 2 km ahead of
McLeodganj. The first half of the trek is a gradually inclined walk with the last 2 km from Snowline Cafe which involves a vertical climb all the way till Triund. The evening sky from Triund is
a sight in itself and is a good excuse for camping here at night.

The trek starts from Galu Temple in Dharamkot and one needs to trek for about 7-8km to reach Triund. It is absolutely worth it because of the refreshing walks amongst the Rhododendron and Oak
forest. There is another trek route that goes via Bhagsu Fall and Shiva Cafe which is considered to be more challenging. Triund is also the base camp and acclimatisation point for the trek to
Inderhara point in Dhauladar range.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi to Dharamshala

Get a transfer via Volvo from Delhi to Dharamshala in the evening.

Day 2

Mcleodganj to Triund (2875 metres / 9 KM / 4 Hours)

Triund Dharamkot

Reach Mcleodganj which is a starting point of the trek.

This trek is moderately easy and would take you to the scenic grassland of lush green grass and pastures that is Triund. During your trek, you can make a stop for lunch.

Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of the whole Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other.

Check into the camps and have dinner at the campsite (In case of Bad weather or Govt restriction, Day trekking back to Dharamkot to reach the campsite)

Spend the night in your camps.

Day 3

Triund to Mcleodganj and Departure (9 KM / 3 Hours)

Get up early to enjoy the blissful sunrise and check out from camps after breakfast.

Start your trek back to the base camp located at Mcleodganj which marks the end of your short but delightful Himalayan experience.

After your arrival at Dharamshala, you will be boarding an evening bus to take you back to Delhi

Day 4

Delhi Arrival

As you arrive in Delhi early in the Morning, the trip will come to an end
