After breakfast we leave for Sarchu on the border between Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Here you can see the nomadic Gaddi people and an army outpost. On our way we stop at Barchala Pass (4892 m). At Barchala, which means "a pass with cross roads," the roads from Ladakh, Zanskar, Lahaul and Spiti intersect. Stay overnight at tents in Sarchu.

After early breakfast leave for Leh en-route crossing Nakeela and Tanglang-La Pass (5350mts) the second highest road in the world and Lachlang-La (5065mts). Break for lunch at Pang and then drive on towards Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang (a vast plateau stretching for 42 kms) and driving through the upper Indus Valley. Reach Leh by evening.
