Prashar Lake lies 49 km north of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India, with a three storied pagoda- like temple dedicated to the sage Prashar. The lake is located at a height of 2730 m above sea level and the best part is that it revolves around the perimeter of the lake. With deep blue waters, the lake is held sacred to the sage Prashar and he is regarded to have meditated there. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and looking down on the fast flowing river Beas.
About Maharishi Prashar : He is the son of Maharishi Shakti and the Grandson of Maharishi Vashisht.
Characteristic of the Pagoda like Temple: A 3 tier with lower 2 roofs in pent roof form covered with tin slates. Its conical roof is covered with tin roof. Intricate wood carving designs. A knotted serpent’s looks magnificent.

Briefing for the day : Get an overnight Volvo Bus from Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate and get down at Mandi Bus Stand in the early morning. Pick Up from Mandi and transfer to Baggi by taxi to the base camp. After having breakfast at Baggi Village, we began our trek from Baggi to Prashar lake at 9000 feet (8 Kms 6 hours). Excursion around Prashar Lake and camp near Prashar Lake.
