HINDUSTAN TIBET ROAD gives an insight of silk route and one of the most “Deadliest Road” in the world passing through Kinnaur Valley along the bank of River Satluj. This road finally enters Tibet at Shipki La pass just near to Khab and continues in Tibet. While the SPITI VALLEY is a “middle land” between India and Tibet and a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas and also nestled between Kinnaur Valley in the south and Ladakh in the North.
Where Spiti Valley is mostly known for its harsh weather in winters and has a plenty of scope for explorations. Due to a very small window time for exploring this valley, many such places in this valley are not visited at all and has plenty of opportunities for mountaineers all around the world.

Brief Up Of All Places

SARAHAN
A detour of 30kms from a town called Jeori on Spiti-Shimla Highway. Sarahan is an ancient village up on the mountains , its known for its ancient temple BHIMA KALI a ancient temple of great significance to Hindus.
SANGLA
Situated in a deep valley next to the Baspa river, Sangla offers the tourists a beautiful view of green mountains and apple orchards. Chitkul village, the last village in Baspa valley borders tibet on one side and Uttarakhand on the other, which is why it is also known as the last village of India.
Its one of the most scenic valleys in himachal , and on accommodation kinner camps is one of the best options with nature at its best and camping next to the river can blend up to the experience..
NAKO
Ne-goh called in local dilect meaning door way to pilgrimage , its beginning of trans himalaya landscape and is beginning of cold desert. It has a holy lake right in between village which has great significance to local Buddhist people living around .
SPITI VALLEY.
TABO.
TA-POH , as better known in local dilect is one of the oldest monasteries functional on Himalayas.
Made in 999 AD , by the great translator H.H Rimchen zangpo belongs to Gelugpa sect of Vajrayana lineage in Tibetan Buddhism , mud sculpture’s and paintings made of natural colours still stand intact on this day
DANGKHAR
Dang-khar , where khar means palace and used to be winter capital of spiti ruled by prince known as nonos in local dialect , till very recent .
It has a monastery which is recognized as 100 most endangered monuments under UNESCO . and falls under gelukpa sect of tibetan buddhism , the whole village is situated on a cliff over looking the confluence of pin and spiti river.
Dhangkhar lake
It a trek for one hour up hill from dhangkhar , and is beautiful small lake right in between nowhere, perfect for trekking enthusiast to start up with.
PIN VALLEY
It’s one of the largest valleys in spiti , a part of it scenic landscape its famous for its flora and fauna ,
Falling under great Himalayan national park its favorite among wildlife photographers and for trekking enthusiast there are two main treks which starts from pin valley , pin bhaba pass which end down at khafnu in kinnaur and another one is pin Pārbati pass which ends down in parvati valley kullu district , a part of this there are multiple short trips in side pin valley .
Pin valley follows ningmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism . ningma coming from word called ningba literately means oldest in Tibetan dialect , it is the oldest sect in Tibetan Buddhism and on that they follow unique lineage of bhuchen practice( A PART OF TANTRIC BUDDHISM) which is indeed only practiced in pin valley and not anywhere else in world not even in Tibet .
Here we have the only monastery following to ningmapa sect called kungri monastery.
LANGZA AND KOMIC.
Then you head for langza a village a beautiful village with famous chau chau khang nilda peak on its back
This plateau type terrain is famous for fossils, flora and fauna.
You can easily find ammonites, a fossil, especially one of a later type found chiefly in the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, typically with intricately frilled suture lines.
This day we can carry some post cards to post from Hikkim village and a packed lunch that you can enjoy in the grassy meadows of this high altitude terrain.
Hikkim has one of the highest polling stations in world .
komic is one of the highest villages connected with road inhabited through out winters. at 4500 meters ,
Komic village has a ancient monastery following sakyapa sect of tibetan buddhism called as tangud monastery .
KYE AND KIBBER.
Kye monastery.
It’s a ancient monastery built in 11 century , the whole monastery is built on a small hill and all the chambers or house on it are retreats of monks, interesting thing is the reincarnation of 19 rinchen zangpo has a seat here in this monastery , kye monastery belongs to gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism and its believed once upon a time. It had largest number of students than any other monastery in whole of Himalayas.
Kibber
At an altitude of 4200m is an ancient village which used to be one of the largest villages of Spiti in olden days, that used to fall on the ancient trading routes and was famous for being the world's highest motorable village earlier.
KAZA.
Kaza is the District Headquarter of Spiti, and the largest settlement here. However, it’s got the feel of a wonderful little frontier town and serves as an ideal base for all your travel around this magnificent valley.
At the heart of Kaza, is the Sakya Gompa or monastery
