P.M Attend the Timket/Epiphany festival that is celebrated colorfully in ancient Ethiopian orthodox chrch falling just weeks after Ethiopian Christmas. It is 3-day affairs preceded by the eve of Timket where dramatic processions take place through a night of fasten, to the great day itself commemorating the baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan. This evening we will be attending Ketera, the Eve of Timket, the Priest bring out the Tabots-replicas of the tablets of laws received by Moses, which are normally housed inside the altar symbolizing the Ark of the Covenant and rest in a big tents for over night near by a river or a water pool. Priests bless the water of the pool or river and church mass will be held throughout the night. The folks wear white and new traditional clothes for the celebrations. Most people get gack to their home around 22:00 and get back around 7:30 A.M. For the next day’s celebratiosn to line up to have enough of the holly water blessed by the whole night praying and mass and around 10:00 the water sprinkled by the pop or Patriarch to the crowds.

Flight to Lalibella to visit the famous rock-hewn churches of Lalibella, The renowned King Lalibela with his tenants excavated the amazing andastonishing eleven rock-hewn churches from single pink granite bedrock of Roha Mountain in the 13th century. The churches are divided into two groups characterizing the location of River Jordan and are connected to each other by means of appropriately executed underground tunnel. Fly to Axum, on arrival Axum we check-in at the hotel relax for some time and have our lunch afterwards. We then go out in the afternoon to visit the legendary Stelea. Axum is the historical and religious heart of Ethiopia and once was the capital city of the long standing Axumite Kingdom. The ruins still visible in Axum stan as testimony to an exceptionally high level of civilization, notably the stone monoliths that are dotted throughout the city and are among the most mysterious monuments in the world. The largest monolith in the world, which weighs five hundred tons and is thirty-three meters long, is still on site. Very recently one of the stelae, which were stolen by Mussolini of Italy, is retuned to its country. Axum is also the cite of Tsion Mariam church where the original Ark of The Covenant is housed which was brought to Ethiopia by Menelik I on his return trip from Jerusalem.

Gondar- Ethiopia's royal capital until 1868, its location at the intersection of several Caravan routes made it the perfect location for a capital city. Gondar was the home of the Falasha, the "Black Jews" of Ethiopia, most of who left for Israel in 1991. Founded by Emperor Fassilides in 1632, Gondar has been called the "Camelot of Africa" because of its astles and churches. The Emperor built the first castle. His majesty’s successors then built one palace for each of them during their reign time. A total of eleven palaces are located in one compound, which are very convenient for visitors to tour all at once. At the outskirt of the city-the Bath for king Fasileds is an addition to the visitor. It is not known for sure who built the castles but many surmise they were the work of Portuguese craftsmen.

The pictures are of many styles made by different artists of the then period many dedicated to the saints depicting the saints and St.May and some the life style of the medieval Ethiopia.
The lake has an amazing network of 37 islands scattered over the surface of 3000 square km. We should pass by some papyrus canoes that are still used by the locals as transportation.

Payment Policy
A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due in 45 days before commencement of the tour program. If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.
HOW TO MAKE A PAYMENT
All tour prices are quoted In US Dollars.
All payments are made to HORIZON AFRICA SAFARI LLC, through the Bank to which after confirmation we send you invoice with the bank details.
The company reserves the right to cancel the booking if payment is not received in accordance with these terms.
The Company reserves the right to alter any route or arrangement or to cancel the operation of any scheduled tour should the conditions necessitate. The right is also reserved to decline, accept or retain any person as a member of any tour at any time. An equitable amount will be refunded accordingly.
LIABILITY
All bookings are accepted on the specific condition that we and our agents act only as agents for the passenger in all matters relating to hotel/lodge accommodation, tours and transport and that we shall not be liable for any injury, delay, loss, accident or damage arising from any clause and in any manner however except when the passenger is being carried in transport owned by the company.
The respective laws of the country govern the Company’s liability to passengers carried in its own vehicles. All claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which the cause of action arises.
The company reserves the right to employ subcontractors to carry out all or part of the services agreed to be supplied and in the event of the exercise of such right the terms of clause (II) relating to the company’s liability shall apply.
We accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air or other services, sickness, war, strife, civil disturbances, sickness, quarantine or other causes. All such losses and expenses will have to be borne by the passenger.

CANCELLATION
Cancellations must be received in writing. Refund for cancellation will depend on the duration of cancellation prior to tour departure.

HEALTH REQUIRMENTS
There are no compulsory vaccinations required now days, but you may need medical advice from your doctor with regard to immunization against tetanus, typhoid, meningitis, polio, hepatitis A and malaria medication.
Prior to entry, visitors should have a valid health certificate for yellow fever and vaccination against cholera for any person who has visited or transited a cholera-infected area within six days prior to arrival in Ethiopia.
Photo and Video camera fees in many places small fees are charged for photos taken of people, especially in the southern tribal areas of Ethiopia. Video fees can be high in national parks and some heritage sites
What Are the Travel Requirements for Ethiopia?
Prior to your travel to Ethiopia, it is strongly recommended that you obtain your visa first at the nearest Ethiopian embassy. This is especially recommended if you are planning to enter Ethiopia by land, such as if you plan to take a side trip to Ethiopia from Kenya or from another neighboring country. An Ethiopian tourist visa is available to U.S. citizens only at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. However, there are cases where some tourists were not granted the tourist visas. For travelers who are one year and older, who come from countries with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission, a vaccination certificate is required. Additionally, non-residents who travel to Ethiopia are required to declare all foreign currency of more than 3,000 U.S. dollars or its equivalent.
What Are the Safety Concerns When you Travel to Ethiopia?
All foreign visitors in Ethiopia are advised to be cautious and vigilant when frequenting crowded areas, public places, and landmarks. Ethiopia is generally a safe and stable country but domestic insurgent groups may pose a threat to both locals and tourists. It is also important to exercise care when riding public transports such as mini-buses. In major cities such as Addis Ababa, pick pocketing and snatching are very common and it is recommended to always secure your personal belongings and avoid public display of your valuables. When traveling across towns and cities, it is best to limit your travel to daylight hours and travel only in a group.
