The Zanzibar archipelago consists of more than 50 islands, ranging from tiny outcrops to the larger, more populated islands of Zanzibar (more properly called Unguja) and Pemba. The beaches are often stunning, with powdery white sand, shaded by palm trees.
Options for a Zanzibar beach holiday are many, but broadly, the island can be divided into five areas: Nungwi in the north, the east coast, the south-east, the west coast, and a few offshore island.
Zanzibar offers some excellent snorkelling, and world-class diving – which is centred around Mnemba Atoll to the north-west, and the Menai Bay Conservation Area, to the island’s south-west.

  Stone Town is the cultural heart of the island and the old city area of Zanzibar City, located on the western shore.stone town is the home of the fomer slave market , you get wonderful time to visit the site of Angelican Cathedral church which was bult in 1873 at the slave market site and was abolished by Missionaries from England during 1873.

The most popular dolphin spotting location in Zanzibar is undoubtedly Kizimkazi, where you could see both bottlenose and humpback dolphins. You can also feel the nice sensation of swimming with the dolphins. Swimming with wild dolphins is an incredible experience for many people. This is usually a full day trip.

• Day 5 : The Prison Island Tour

  where you can visit a giant tortoise sanctuary and snorkel on the corals surrounding Prison Island, and get to know Zanzibar's history. At Prison Island excursion, you can see the historical prison buildings, can meet the giant tortoise in their sanctuary, can Snorkel in the colorful coral reefs nearby and enjoy the beautiful Indian Ocean. Prison Island tour is worth spending the money as it is easily accessible and interesting enough. The oldest turtle on the Prison island is 180 years old. This is half day trip.
