Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Transfer to Basic Camp Chyulu Hills

  You are driven with the car from Nairobi to Chyulu Hills. Here you finally change to your bicycles and ascend the 2500m high scenic volcanic range of hills. You will spend the first night at the crest, from here you can see the Kilimanjaro in the South West and the Yatta Plateau to the East.
• Day 2 : Oltiasika - Kimana Mara Camp

  After your first bush breakfast on the ridge of the hills, you continue cycling along the ridge for a magnificent descend to Oltiasika, a small Masai settlement in the dusty plains on the shores of the seasonal Lake Arpakai. You will take your lunch at the lake before continuing cycling through the dry plains to a fly camp near the Kimana Sanctuary for dinner and overnight. At the campfire you enjoy the magnificent views of the snow capped Kilimanjaro towering over the plains in the South.
• Day 3 : Kibo Cottages Loitokitok

  After breakfast you will get on your bicycles again and ride through the Masai plains. On clear days the snow caps of Kilimanjaro are seen. In the afternoon you ascend to the border town Loitokitok, where dinner and a comfortable overnight in the Kibo Slopes Cottages are waiting for you.
• Day 4 : Simba Farm

  On this fourth day you rise early for breakfast. The morning sun turns the majestic Kilimanjaro into a pinkish color. After breakfast on the terrace, looking at the snow-covered peaks of Kilimanjaro your driver will take you to the Kenyan/Tanzanian border to complete the border formalities. Another 10km by car to Kamwanga and you are changing again to our preferred mode of transport, your mountain bike. You cycle to Londorrosi through savannah and farm land. After a climb to Londorossi and a lunch break there, you descend the slopes of Kilimanjaro with an excellent view of Mount Meru. At the Simba Farm, the fly camp is already set and over the campfire you enjoy both - dinner and the marvelous Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro views as the sun sets.

• Day 5 : Chagga Villages

  After breakfast, you continue cycling round the Kilimanjaro. The scenery changes and the grass and farmland gives way to densely populated Chagga Villages surrounded by banana and coffee plantations and small scale farmland. You will spend the night in a fly camp in the middle of a Chagga Village.
• Day 6 : Kibosho Mission Station

  Today after a leisurely taken breakfast, you continue cycling through banana and coffee plantations and small villages on the Southern slopes of Kilimanjaro to Moshi. On the way you see colorful scenes, such as women who are carrying their purchases, bought at the numerous markets, on the top of the heads to their homes. At the Kibosho mission station you call it a day and you will camp for dinner and overnight.
• Day 7 : Lake Challa

  Today you have to wake up early and load your bicycles on to our cars and transfer a short distance to the Kidia Gate. The gorges caused by the streams do not allow you to drive to the gate on bicycle. From here you cycle again on the mountain slopes to Marangu, where you have a lunch break. Thereafter, you continue your tour to Lake Challa arguably the most scenic crater lake in East Africa.
• Day 8 : Ziwani Tented Camp

  It is time to return to Kenya via the Taveta border on your bicycles. After completing the border formalities, you cycle through the plains, past sisal plantations to the Ziwani Tented Camp, just on the edge of Tsvao West. Here you can opt for a guided game walk or just take a well deserved rest.
• Day 9 : Tsavo West

  Today you leave the bicycle behind and spend the whole day with game drives in the vast Tsavo West National Park. On the full day game drive, you find herds of elephants, buffaloes, and plain game and with some luck you may even spot lions.
• Day 10 : Amboseli

  You complete your Kilimanjaro circuit with a 60 km ride to the Amboseli Park Gate. At the entrance a driver picks you and brings you to the Lodge.
• Day 11 : Return to Nairobi

  Your morning game drive reveals the variety of game in the Amboseli National Park. With some luck you may find also predators on their hunting missions. After lunch at the camp your safari ends with a transfer to Nairobi.
