In ancient times, the city was called Ujjayini. As mentioned in the Mahabharata epic and Buddhist literature, Ujjayini was the capital of the Avanti Kingdom. Traditionally exalted as one of the seven sacred cities (SaptaPuri) of the Hindus, Ujjain is one of the four sites that host the KumbhMela (also called the SimhasthaMela), a quadrennial mass pilgrimage that attracts millions of Hindu pilgrims from around the country. It is also home to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines to the god Shiva. An ancient seat of learning, Ujjain is the place where Lord Krishna, along with Balarama and Sudama, received his education from Maharshi Sandipani. It is also known as thecity of Temples.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Indore – Ujjain (55 Kms 01 Hour)

Bhartrihari Caves

Upon arrival at Indore Airport. Our representative will meet you on exit gate of airport and transfer you to your pre booked hotel in Ujjain. Arrive Ujjain and check in at hotel and after bit rest and (lunch on your own) Start temple tour of Ujjain visiting Mahakaleshwar Temple, Sandipani Ashram, Ramghat, Bhartrihari Caves, Harsidhhi Temple, 84 Mahadevas temple . Evening Return back to hotel. Dinner at hotel or restaurant on your own.
Overnight at hotel in at Ujjain.

Day 2 Ujjain – (omkareshwar 140 Kms) Ujjain Round Trip

Omkareshwar Temple

Today after early breakfast Re - visit to Mahakaleshwar Temple to attain the “Bhasm Aarti” and proceed to Omkareshwar.Omkareshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to God Shiva. It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. It is on an island called Mandhata or Shivapuri in the Narmada River, the shape of the island is said to be like the Hindu ॐ symbol. Arrive Omkareshwar in afternoon and visit Omkareshwar temple and Brahma temple in Brahmpuri and Vishnu temple in Vishnupuri. If time permits visit Ahilya Ghat, Mamleshwar Temple, Gouri Somnath temple etc. Later proceed back to Ujjain. Day is at rest or leisure. Dinner at hotel or restaurant on your own.

Day 3 Ujjain-sightseeing

Chintaman Ganesh Temple

Today after relaxed Breakfast visit to Kal Bhairav Temple(according to Hindus mythology is a manifestatation of Lord Shiva. The sculpture of deities are seen in this temple, it is believed that Kal Bhairav is a protector of travelers), Jantar Mantar, (Lunch at your own cost). After Lunch you will visit to Chintaman Ganesh Temple (This temple is the biggest temple in the city. It is built across River Shipra. The Idol of Ganesh of this ancient temple is believed to have been born by itself. As the deity is known as Chintamani Ganesh, which means reliever of tensions. In Evening time is free for Shopping. Dinner at your own cost.

Day 4 Ujjain – Bhopal/indore Drop
