Arusha National Park is a compact gem sitting at the foot of Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest peak at 4,566 meters. Despite its small size, the park offers remarkably diverse habitats and spectacular views of both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. The park contains the Momella Lakes — a series of shallow alkaline lakes each with a distinct color, ranging from green to blue. These lakes attract large flocks of flamingos and other water birds. The park also features the Ngurdoto Crater, a mini version of the Ngorongoro Crater. Arusha NP is one of the few parks in Tanzania where you can do walking safaris and canoe trips. It's perfect for a half-day or full-day excursion from Arusha city and serves as an excellent introduction to Tanzania's wildlife.
