1 Day Horse Back-Riding Tour

The stables started with 3 beautiful horses of Arabian/Somali mix. Today there are 25 horses at the stables in Nungwi and the paddocks & ranch in Kidoti village — a wide range of horses for all ages, sizes and capabilities. Village & beach ride — 1 hour. Suitable for all levels including 1st timers. We pass through the edge of Nungwi Village and head north east to join the beach at the Nungwi Light House. At low tide we can also look for some local sandbanks that only appear when the tide goes out. We then return to the stables along the beach, trotting and cantering for those who can. Ride to the Sandbanks — 120 minutes. These amazing sandbanks only appear at a super low tide and are only accessible for approx. 15 days per month, with the best and most isolated beaches in Zanzibar. For experienced riders only as it involves lots of cantering and walking along a rocky coast. Once we reach the sandbanks there are endless opportunities for galloping and amazing photos. Only possible at low tide and before 11am. Great Northern beach and jungle ride — 1.5 hours (Experience). From our stables we head south onto the main beaches of Nungwi and Kendwa, walking, trotting and cantering at intervals along this amazing beach. We head to Kilindi bay and inland to Kilindi farmlands and the remote villages of Kidoti, passing through isolated communities and jungle forests rarely seen by tourists. After a 30-minute break at Kidoti Villas & ranch, we remount and head back to the northern beaches finishing with a 7 km canter along the white beaches of Kendwa and Nungwi. Includes refreshments and snacks at Kidoti Villas. Only possible at low tide and before 10am.
