10 Days Bush - Beach Flying Safari Tour

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at around 8am and transfer to Wilson airport for a flight to Samburu National Reserve. The flight passes over lush farmlands and offers glimpses of the glaciered slopes of Mt Kenya before descending into the arid North and the Samburu Game Reserve. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Ashnil Samburu Camp for lunch. In the evening proceed for a game drive to look for the Samburu Special Five including Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and Grevys zebra. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Dawn in Samburu offers golden light as you start the day on the lodge veranda with a cup of steaming coffee before heading out. Before the dew is off the grass you head out in pursuit of elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve's grasslands and acacia woodlands. The day alternates between exploration in the bush and relaxation at the lodge. You will enjoy two game drives each day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

Another full day in Samburu begins at dawn with views from the lodge veranda accompanied by coffee before heading into the reserve. The morning and evening game drives focus on locating elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs across the grasslands and acacia woodlands. The day provides a balance of active game viewing and downtime at the luxury camp.

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Samburu, returning to camp in time for breakfast. After checkout you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch a flight to Maasai Mara, a flight of approximately 1 hour. On arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to Ashnil Mara Camp for lunch. Relax after the long journey until 1600hrs then depart the camp for an evening game drive until 1830hrs. Maasai Mara is renowned for the great migration and is home to all of the big five.

Wake up at first light and depart the camp for early morning game drives when animals are most active. Expect to encounter a wide diversity of big game and birdlife including giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and many antelope species. Return to camp for a full breakfast and enjoy the camp facilities during the day. Later in the late afternoon depart for an evening game drive that continues until dusk.

A second day in Maasai Mara follows the same rhythm: early morning coffee and game drive to encounter the rich wildlife of the reserve. The day alternates between game viewing and relaxation at the luxury camp, with an additional evening drive to maximize sightings at dusk.

Wake up early for a final game drive in Maasai Mara, exploring the reserve at first light before returning to camp for a full breakfast. After checkout you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch a flight to Diani. From the Diani airstrip you will be transferred to AfroChiq, a luxury beachfront resort ideal for relaxing and enjoying views of exotic dhows in full sail.
