2-Day Safari from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park

Our driver will pick you up from an agreed upon hotel in Zanzibar very early in the morning (around 4-5:00am) and transfer you to the Zanzibar airport for your flight to Nyerere National Park.

Upon arrival at the Park, a Duteni Tours guide will pick you up from the airstrip and you will immediately begin your magical safari. Nyerere is one of the world’s finest wildlife sanctuaries. Be prepared to be amazed by this massive park, which is crisscrossed by the largest and longest river in Tanzania (the Rufiji). As a result of this water source, the park is rich with all kinds of wild animals. From crocodiles and hippos to elephants, lions, and everything in between—Nyerere offers guests a true African bush experience. This is your opportunity check an authentic African bush safari off your bucket list!

In the afternoon you will stop for lunch inside the park before continuing with your game drive. In the evening we will drive you to your hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will take you to the Rufiji River for a boat safari. This unique safari experience offers you the opportunity to spot a variety of indigenous mammal, fish, and bird species.

When you are done with your boat safari, you will have the option to do a village tour or visit a local school. This is your opportunity to meet and interact with the locals and learn about their daily lives.

After the optional tour of the villages or local school, you will be picked up by our professional driver, who will transfer you to the Mtemere Airstrip at Nyerere National Park for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, our driver will pick you up and take you back to your hotel.
